What you'll do
The sketching experience is led by Sonia and Kelly, both full time professional artists in Rome. We will let you know which one of us will be leading your experience prior to your scheduled date. We hand make your sketchbook ourselves and provide a kit with watercolors, brush, pen, and pencil in an easy-to-carry bag. Your sketchbook is yours to keep at the end of our time together. We'll spend 3 hours in an ancient neighborhood moving to several locations learning fun and simple techniques for keeping a travel sketchbook journal. First we work in pencil, then in pen and finally in watercolor. No experience necessary; the sketching tours are for all skill levels (truly!). This is for fun-loving people who want to see Rome through new eyes.
Complete Sketch Kit We provide a handmade sketchbook, pen, pencil, watercolors and waterbrush plus folding stools for sitting…
I am an American full-time artist living in Italy since 2005 and trained as a classical figurative painter. I spend my days on the streets of Rome painting impressionistic scenes and the head of Rome's local Urban Sketchers group. To me, Rome is the best place in the world to sketch!
