What you'll do

This tour will be done in one of the Tijuca National Park’s areas, with gateway in Alto da Boa Vista. The park was created in 1967 and is responsible for housing one of the most important urban forests in the world. It is possible to see wild animals, plants and trees of various species and be in total contact with nature. We can choose between the following trails that have the same beginning: PICO DA TIJUCA - with about 2.8 km of walk distance and final elevation of 1021 meters; TIJUCA-MIRIM - with about 2.6 km of walk distance and final elevation of 917 meters; and BICO DO PAPAGAIO - with about 2.4 km of walk distance and final elevation of 989 meters, depending on the availability of time and disposal of the group.. This will allow us a 360° view of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Making it possible to view the Gávea and Bonita Rock, Corcovado, Cantagalo and Andaraí stones. We can also see the stadiums of Maracanã and Engenhão, the Rio-Niterói Bridge, besides the center of the city. At the end of the tour we can take a shower in one of the waterfalls of the park to wash the body and refresh the soul!

I'm 33 years old, geologist from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, climber and passionate about trails! Being in touch with nature is part of my essence and renews me every second. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro have been doing this type of walk for more than 20 years. Learning more and more how to interact constructively with nature. Practicing outdoor sports provides rewarding self-knowledge, rewarding not only the body but also the mind.

Where you'll be

We will walk the park trails that are classified from moderate to heavy. We will enjoy a total contact with the flora and fauna. Being our responsibility to act in a minimally impacting way to the place. This is an experience that requires physical conditioning, for a better enjoy. We were exposed to the heat and sun of Rio de Janeiro for a considerable period. Being recommended to be hydrated and rested.
