What you'll do

We will go on a walk with 5 rescue horses. On this walk we will guide you into your own power by taking the horse on a lead.
Walking with horses has everything to do with clear and gentle communication and we will help you to establish that. Horses are mirrors of the soul and they reflect your actual State of Being. For some, the reflection of the horse is a real eye opener and for some the walk is pure pleasure. But whatever the horses have in mind for you, you will leave here fulfilled and satisfied.

This experience is very suitable for people who are/have been afraid for horses but would love to get (back) in touch with them.

After the (safety) introduction at the State of Being Sanctuary, we step into the field and you can choose the horse that attracts you most, or you will be chosen by a horse.

While walking, we might reflect on things that I notice in you while being with a horse. This can be an insightful experience.

But the main thing is going for the walk in the beautiful hills around Barão de São João.

Halfway the walk we take a little break where you can sip some of your own brought drink before we head back.
Most people leave here with a feeling of wellness, fulfilled and happy.

Looking forward to walk with you.

Ever since I was a child I was dreaming of having a horse. I had to become 50 years to finally realize that dream. Soon I understood that 'dreaming' about a horse is totaaaally different than actually having one...
6 years ago, rescued from slaughter by a friend of mine, I walked 'Flame', my first horse, home for the first time. That was the moment the real adventure started. Being with Flame not only taught me lots about horses and how to take care of them, but my life changed profoundly.
More and more I became grounded in myself and dared to stand in my own power. Now, almost 6 years and 4 extra horses later, the horses made me into a horseman, and it feels like it has never been different.
I want to share my experience with you by taking you on an empowering walk with the 5 horses.

I would have given this experience 5*, had it not been for one thing. I want to be very clear that Sakshin himself was a very lovely and friendly individual, who taught me a lot about the horses, and was able to apply my experience with the horses to wider, life lessons. This was of course very insightful and enlightening to learn. The horses themselves and the surroundings on the walk were also very beautiful. :) The only reason I cannot give this experience a higher rating is because myself and my partner were quickly asked if we had both been vaccinated, to which we said yes. From that point onwards, we were asked to wear gloves in order to touch the animals. This was supposedly to protect the animals from viral shedding. This made me feel uncomfortable and disheartened, and consequently, less connected from what was meant to be a spiritual experience. Interestingly enough, I do not believe the animals cared whether or not we were vaccinated; the dog in particular could not have been more loving. Perhaps there is a deeper, spiritual lesson here to be learnt by the host himself. I also hope that the host will do some research, which will reveal that the covid-19 vaccine is not a live vaccine, and as such, viral shedding does not occur. I am certain that this will make future, vaccinated guests feel more comfortable and able to enjoy a fuller experience. Thank you again Sakshin for giving us a glimpse into your sacred world. ♡

A truly unique and magical experience. I had read about Sakshin and the project with the rescued horses some time ago so it was a dream come true to finally be able to visit. The knowledge and care that Sakshin & Charlotte have for the horses is incredible. The walk takes place around the local countryside with the horses Charlotte and Sakshin who are close by if needed but it´s really about your time with these amazing animals who you will undoubtably form a wonderful bond with and may even show you something about yourself! This is very clearly a passion for Charlotte & Sakshin and its beautiful to experience their vision, especially knowing you are contributing towards a happy future for rescued animals. I wish them the very best and highly recommend to everyone to experience themselves.

Ich habe es für meine 11 jährige Tochter gebucht und ich bin selber mit gelaufen. Meine Tochter hat gesagt es war einer ihrer schönsten Tage. Die Veranstalter haben sich viel Zeit für meine Tochter genommen.

We made a two hour walk through the beautiful landscape of Barão de São João with the 5 horses, the dog, Charlotte and Saksin. First we got to know eachother and in the middle we had a nice break talking about interesting stuff! Walking with divina and rocky was special and overall restful. Were looking forward to the next walk! Greetings Ezequiel & Tinde

Mixed feelings. Everything started really well and I enjoyed a little chat about each horse and just sitting around the horses in their enclosure. The hosts were very nice and I admire their passion about the whole idea of a rescued horses sanctuary. I was the only person there plus two hosts and five horses. I got one horse to walk with and it was a nice experience, however, because there were more horses than people, it felt like the horses overpowered the group couple of times, meaning some of them started to run out of the blue. The hosts said it might happen but still it felt a little bit uncomfortable. The biggest turn of events happen half way through the experience, when we let the horses loose and we started to chat more. They asked me about the vaccine and I said I’ve had my first covid jab and then everything changed. I was asked not to touch horses anymore because they believed that ‘shading’ effect might happen meaning that some dna protein from the vaccine might travel from me to the horses or humans via touch and/or air. So we walked back to the sanctuary, me on my own, not walking with a horse anymore, feeling unwanted and like a threat to everyone around. I wouldn’t have booked that experience knowing that the hosts don’t wish vaccinated people to come, however, there was no information about it available at the time of my booking. If I knew, I’d have chosen something else to save everyone feeling awkward and a bad experience for myself.

As someone who is afraid of horses I was curious how the experience will be. The hosts were kind and thoughtful and I felt very comfortable throughout the whole walk. I definitely recommend it!
