What you'll do

Once we all have our wellingtons on we will be ready to head over and meet the goats. They are very playful and enjoy guests. Along the way Mike will share his ample experience in farming and answer any questions you might have about our farming operation. Next we will stop by and see Daisy our sow and possibly give her a treat, she loves apples. After that we will head into the pastures so you can experience our cattle and the beautiful rolling hills they call home. Our final stop will be our farm store where you will have the opportunity to purchase some of our farm products.
Other things to note
Farming can be a messy business, so please be prepared to be in an environment that can at times be wet and a little dirty.

Growing up on the Meenahorna Farm in Knocknagoshel Co. Kerry, Ireland, Michael Fitzgerald honed his farming instincts the best way there is, through hard work and experience. Working on the family farm until he was 21 years of age, Mike learned everything there is to know about rearing cattle and stewarding the land. Over the past five years he has put this knowledge to use on a farm of his own, in Livingston N.Y. The Fitzgerald’s Locust Hills Farm is continuing the family tradition started many generations ago, raising animals in a humane and sustainable manner.

Where you'll be

The farm is named after the lush locust trees that pepper the Hudson Valley, because Mike Fitzgerald knows that a farmer's beef is only as good as the land it grazes on. You will get to experience this first hand as you stroll through our pastures and climb our hills.

My boyfriend and I came upstate from Brooklyn. We had such a lovely time. Mike's farm is beautiful and he's very knowledgeable. He cares about his animals and their well-being/health. This is a working farm and his animals are raised on the land. It was great to hear about his experiences and knowledge about cows. It's clear that he enjoys what he does. Thank you!

Fantastic tour of their farm. It seems as if they are realizing their dream and running a seemingly loving farm in a humane and natural environment. Very friendly and personable. And they allowed and took interest in my aerial photography of the farm with my drone. A beautiful fall afternoon! Highly recommended.

Great experience! Loved visiting all the animals and how this farm was run organically. Both Michael and his wife were so friendly. The beef we bought was amazing! We will be back for more.

Excellent experience! My seven year old daughter had a great time learning about the farm and seeing their livestock. The grounds are beautiful and well kept.

Great experience with Mike and his wife today. His passion truly comes through and he has a cool Irish accent. Incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely respectful of all his land has to offer.
