What you'll do

To begin with, you will enjoy a tour with one of our guides. Here you will be brought on a journey of discovery through the history of the printed word. Along the tour there will be an opportunity to roll up your sleeves and print your own letterpress keepsake. At the end of the tour, you will be presented with another special keepsake that our printers have prepared for you! And then you will enjoy tea/coffee and a tasty treat in the very popular Press Cafe at the National Print Museum. One of the highlights of the tour is discovering the fascinating story behind the printing of Ireland's most historic document...the Irish Proclamation of 1916. We have an original copy and the type of machine used to print it - the only working machine of its kind in Ireland.

I am CEO of the National Print Museum, where I have worked for almost nine years. Together with our team of super tour guides, we are excited to bring your this special tour "History of printing - tour and treats"! Our tour guides are studying Culture and Heritage Studies at the Museum and as well as studying the history of printing, they're also pretty knowledgeable on Irish history and culture in general so make sure to pick their brains!
