We are a group of friends, who have been travelling around the world, experiencing different cultures and tasting wine and good food with locals. Now we are ready to show you our favourite spots in our hometown, Budapest. We keep discovering our city since it's changing immensely from week to week. We love finding new spots and we also love sharing our experiences.

Where you'll be

We will be walking from the Market Hall in to the inner city and than the old Jewish quarter and visit 5 different bars during our tour together. This neighbourhood once was the Jewish Getto, than a working-class area of the inner city and today is the "Soho" of Budapest. We will cruise through this funky little place while drinking the most favourite wines of the Hungarians and tell some stories that you can hear only from a local.

Great food tour with an excellent guide who paved the way as we toured from markets to small restaurants and other local favorites. Our guide really ensured we had minimal down time as she called ahead to coordinate everything before we arrived in advance. We ate foods that are Hungarian staples and off the beaten path.

Highly recommended. Getting to know a city and its people is hard. You can tell a lot from their food. Greco was amazing at this.

I offered this walking tour to my boyfriend for his birthday. We did it the first day of our trip and it was an excellent idea: Ange, our carefull guide, gave us many tips, advices and adresses to enjoy our trip without mistakes. We tasted local food in local market and restaurant or shop. With an explication about the history of this food, it tastes better ! Ange also told us stories about Hungarian History, architecture and people, it was really interessant and usefull for all of our next visits. I recommend ! I feel the need to mention that this tour is organised by a international corporation specialized in these kind of events, but it did not change anything to our experience.

Orsi was an amazing guide for this food odyssey around Budapest. We had seven different stops trying a range of Hungarian foods, from cold cuts to substantial savoury dishes and light desserts. The food stops were well paced and balanced with a perfectly designed itinerary - and of course, everything was delicious. The extra touch that Orsi brought was her stories about various aspects of Budapest which deepened my understanding of Hungarian culture. I highly recommend this food tour to anyone interested in food!

This tour is not run by the locals mentioned but actually by Intrepid. Despite that initial disappointment the tour was good there was lots of stops and lots of food.

This experience was a perfect combination of sights and bites, as it’s title suggests. Angie was wonderful. She showed the group what being a local was all about, experiencing local, real local, places, and then eating local specialties at these local places where one would be hard pressed to find on your own. The insights as to Budapest’s history was enlightening. Could never have learned them from a book. My girlfriends and I would totally give Ange and Urban Adventures all 5 (five) stars. If there were more stars, they would be given. Highly recommend. This is my second Urban Adventures, having done that experience in NYC this past March. It, too, was wonderful.
