What you'll do

When you arrive, we will greet you with a cup of tea or coffee. Then we will get you suited up in gear suitable for being out with the animals. We will provide waterproofs if required and usually have spare welly boots to fit if you'd like to stay as clean as possible.

We will then head out to the barn, where we will walk you through how to hand milk our dairy cow, Honey. She is a lovely natured cow who will stand while you give milking a go. We will also visit our small herd of milking goats for various goat shenanigans. We will then head to meet BoyBoy and Loretta our adorable KuneKune pigs, who love company and a good scratch.

After feeding the pigs, we will head to the chicken coops where you can collect eggs and meet our range of chickens, ducks and geese. If you aren't allergic, you can see our bee hives and our extensive veg garden, before we head inside for one last cuppa and some homebaking before you head off.

Other things to note
Please contact us if you have allergies.
These tours are just once a month and due to other farm commitments, other days or times aren't possible.

We follow stringent COVID guidelines and have out extra cleaning and disinfecting procedures in place. We have indoor and outdoor seating for tea and coffee and ask that while inside of the farm shop or workshop space, you keep your mask on until seated

We are Kat and Kevin, passionate smallholders who moved to our small farm about 5 years ago- adding dairy goats, sheep, a KuneKune pig, chickens, ducks, geese, cats, and our beloved milk cow, Honey. We grow and make most of our own food and love to share that passion with other people. Kat is an author and photographer who specialises in craft and DIY how-to books, online courses and events. From the farm studio, she hosts popular workshops and weekend long retreats on crochet, sourdough bread making, cheese making, foraging and supper clubs. Kevin is our resident extrovert and poo shoveller, who loves to tell you about his love for his goats.

Where you'll be

Our type of farm is locally called a croft. It is a traditional type of small, self- sustaining tenant farm that has existed in communities like ours for hundreds of years in Scotland. We offer a glimpse into how these farms exist as part of a larger traditional hunting, farming and forestry estate.

We are 14 miles from Stirling and Milngavie. Unfortunately, public transportation to the farm isn't available and a taxi is needed from Stirling.

Had a fantastic time with Kat and Kevin. It was great to be able to play with the animals and learn about their farm. Would definitely recommend it as a fun and relaxing experience! 🐐

An absolutely amazing experience! Kevin and Kat were the perfect hosts! Very friendly and welcoming! Very attentive to make sure everyone got enough time with every animal! The cake and bread were delicious and we had such a great time meeting and cuddling all the animals! A definite must for any animal lover!

Absolutely loved our time on the farm and it exceeded our expectations. Whilst it's suitable for young children, it's also brilliant for adults (we went as a couple in our late 30s). Not only are Kat and her husband extremely knowledgeable about sustainable farming, they share it in such a passionate way. It was educational with a dash of fun thrown in (no matter the age, who wouldn't relish the opportunity to milk a cow!) and excellent hospitality too - fresh sourdough bread (to die for) and the most amazing cinnamon bun. Also catered for vegan without a trouble at all. Go people, it's excellent!
