What you'll do
So, you are interested on Havana’s history and architecture? This is the experience you need! We will start by visiting the majestic Paseo del Prado, talking about this street’s history and future plans, stopping at the most interesting buildings. Then we will delve into Old Havana, passing through its 4 main squares. I will talk a little about the emergence and urban consolidation of the city, as well as the most important buildings that have been rehabilitated, their current function and the social impact they have on the Havana's population. It will be a few hours full of curiosities, debates and reflections on the architecture of the city, both traditional and contemporary.

Our name are Ailyn Penton and Camila Jiménez and we are both a cuban architects. We’ve been working among the past years at the City Historian’s Office. Currently, our work focuses on the restoration of heritage buildings, it’s a fascinating experience wich allows us to know, very closely, most of the projects that are being carried out in Old Havana. Currently within the historical center there is a constructive growth, either of the state sector or of the private. On the one hand, we will know new projects that are currently being built and how their management will be, buildings that, being in full construction. On the other hand, we will visit restorations carried out by the private sector, finishing the tour with a cup of coffee at the Piscolabis design store
