What you'll do

First, I will share my story of how I discovered Merida, found the house, and recruited the professionals for the three-year restoration project. Then I will take you on a tour through all of the interior and exterior spaces, sharing tips and entertaining your questions along the way. You will have an opportunity to see photos of the house prior to renovation. Finally, I will leave you on your own to explore, take photos, or just enjoy the ambiance of each and every space. This experience is ideal for architects, designers and those who are considering buying or restoring a colonial home in this beautiful city.
Other things to note
There are two steps down into the front room from the entry. There is a tall spiral staircase up to the rooftop terrace. Restrooms are available for guest use.

I moved to Merida, Mexico eight years ago to restore an abandoned 19th Century Spanish home in the historic colonial center of the city. I worked with a local architect and local artisans for three years to restore the house and make it my dream home. In the process, I learned first-hand the dos and don'ts of home restoration that are unique to the Yucatan. I have been giving tours of my home for charity and providing advice to people wanting to restore Merida homes for 6 years.

A beautifully decorated house. Definitely recommended if you are interested in investing in Merida real estate; or if you are interested in architecture in general.

Greg has an incredible place, we were thoroughly blown away by just who much thought and detail went into the property and how stunning it is. I’ve already raved to everyone in my family to come down to Merida to check out Greg’s place!

If you love architecture mixed with great style and passion, take this tour inside Greg’s labor of mucho amor and homage to Mexican craftsmanship. I walked around muttering wow wow wow, with the overwhelm of magnificence all around me. The woodworking and murals were all done by local craftsmen. I met the master carpenter and almost worshipped at his feet. This house represents what can happen when one creates with pure expressive joy and a team of amazing artisans. The high point of my trip so far!!

What a great experience. The home has been restored beautifully and it's obvious that Greg is not only passionate about keeping the original character of the home but meticulous as well. It's a beautiful place to stay or even have a special event. HIGHLY recommend.

One of the best things to do if you are in Merida and want to know more about colonial architecture. Juan Carlos, the architect of the property, gave us a tour of this beautiful home. He answer all our questions, and was so knowledgeable not just about the architecture aspect of the home but also the decor and furnishings.

Its a great house and a lot of thought had gone in regards to the architecture. Greg did an excellent job explaining the details. The house has a lot of religious nuances that I personally couldn't relate to but if thats your jam this is great for that. This experience would likely appeal to more of an older and religious crowd.
