What you'll do

First we go to the local market to see the fish and shellfish to discover why the Spanish claim that the best and freshest seafood can be found in Madrid, the furthest place from the coast! Learn how to spot the freshest catch and share some tips on buying seafood.

We then head to the Malasaña neighbourhood to check in to a Madrid institution; a Galician hidden restaurant where you will have the FRESHEST, and probably most delicious shellfish platter of your life! ALL PRODUCTS ARE COOKED & WERE IN THE SEA THE EVENING BEFORE.

Roll up your sleeves, take your shellfish opener and napkin while you tackle freshly caught seasonal seafood of all different shapes and sizes. Not for the fish squeamish, It is a very hands on fun experience for both Shellfish newbies & the more experienced. We will teach you how to eat the products if you are not so experienced.

This experience includes the best crisp white wine (from Galicia), Galician deserts & finally we will conclude with a Galician lunch finale: I will show you how the people from the costal areas of northern Spain set fire to their after dinner liquor in a huge pot!
Bring your camera, not to be missed.
Other things to note
The involves sharing large shellfish platters.
I can accommodate meat eaters and vegetarians.

Originally from Manchester England, now a Madrid resident for 20 years, teacher & tour guide. I walked the famous Camino to Santiago in Galicia (where the best Seafood in Spain comes from).

I love showing visitors the secrets and inside tips of my neighborhood best hidden Seafood sights.

I promise incredible value for money and a lifetime memorable authentic experience.

I prefer smaller groups of a maximum of 6 (or 8 if from the same family/party).

This is the 2nd tour we had with Paul . We had 2 tours with him in one day and he was very considerate of our time and needs. We had a great time and also learnt about seafood & Madrid. It’s a great opportunity to try something difference. We wouldn’t be able to find this place without him. Even if we can, it wouldn’t be the same without him. So, Thank you Paul!

Words can’t describe how amazing Paul is!... he’s not your generic tour guide whatsoever. Going to to local seafood restaurant was an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations! Paul is very genuine and passionate about what he does. Highly recommend to do more than one experience with Paul!

From the beginning Paul made us both feel welcome and comfortable. Paul’s insight of seafood was so good, especially the history of seafood in Madrid and Spain. The restaurant was truly a one off experience as it wasn’t just about eating. Every dish had history and was explained to us so we understood the importance and background of how a particular food was on the table. This was done well as we enjoyed everyone’s company and laughed and had a great time while learning something special.

AMAZING TOUR!! Started off at a seafood market learning about fresh & different kinds of seafood. Went to a local restaurant where we ate food & drank wine from Galacia. Unbelievable!! Paul taught us everything about how the seafood was caught & transported to Madrid. We met the owner of the restaurant & its friendly staff. I would 100% suggest this tour to everyone visiting Madrid. There's no way you could find this on your own. Location very close to Sol, the city center.
