What you'll do

We will meet in San Sebastian to then travel by train to Zumaia, a little village west of San Sebastian, famous for appearing in some films and series and for having the most incredible cliffs of the Basque coast. Here, while we walk its streets and buildings, we will discover the history and geology of this unique place at the Basque Coast UNESCO Global Geopark, an area that holds a geological heritage of more than 60 million years! Some hidden fossils will be part of our way!

After admiring the views we'll descent to Itzurun beach to walk along it and learn about the incredible geological heritage. We'll then visit the iconic "Ermita de San Telmo” where we'll do some more fossil spotting and sightseeing. Algorri rocky cove will be our last stop where we will learn about the extinction of the dinosaurs and how biodiversity has evolved through millions of years.

The gorgeous landscape will be our eternal companion, but of course, to finish this experience I'll take you to one of my favourite bar for a drink, such as the Txakoli local white wine or Craft Apple Cider.

My name is Angel and I'm a freelance guide, an environmental scientist and a very friendly and knowledgable person - the best combination for guiding you along this amazing coastline! Travelling and living in Europe and South America with my wife Scarlett and son; but also working in the tourism industry, has given me a real sense of what an excellent experience needs to include. Let me offer this, an immersion into both the incredible natural and cultural heritage of the Basque coast.
We came to live to this stretch of coast with Scarlett and found a paradise for our little family, specially considering my science background and her Basque roots.
Often our guests write back to us telling us how this experience has changed their way of seeing the landscape.

Want to know why? Come and experience it by yourself!

Awesome experience. Long and beautiful walk along the coast (better with hiking shoes). Even though it was a 4h tour, it felt way less as the tour was very interesting. Angel was very welcoming and knows his topic. He walked us through beautiful landscapes while teaching us interesting facts.

Angel was very insightful and took me to places I never would have known to go while staying for two weeks in San Sebastián. He knew a lot about the geological processes of the region and explored very beautiful landscapes along the coast! It was definitely a highlight of the trip!

I highly recommend this tour with Angel! He is a very knowledgeable person and will explain things about rocks but more importantly will help understand the main questions of our time (sustainability).

Merci beaucoup Angel
