What you'll do

Originally, I have hosted several foodies and food/travel bloggers which I have known through Foodspotting, an incredibly loyal and engaged food community. They encouraged me to take a step-up and expand my passionate in food to more people. That's why I am here with my passion of showing people how interesting Vietnamese is.

Tea is an important of my family specifically, and among Vietnamese families generally. I’ll introduce you to history of Vietnamese tea, the tea map, types of Vietnamese tea and theirs stories, discuss other stories in teasim world with you. Join me as I will guide you in a simple tea ceremony, and show you whole set of rituals, tools, and elements to make good tea. Each type of tea needs different care!

Also, I have traveled to most parts of Vietnam, so do not hesitate to ask me travel and food tips not only in Hanoi but also Vietnam!
Other things to note
No wireless network and no air-conditioner. It is cooler inside, isolated with the heat as surrounding by trees and thick wall.

Born and raised in Hanoi, I moved to Saigon at the age of 18 then studied abroad, came back and worked in Saigon, left consulting job to be in Hanoi and became a food blogger (Tho Loves Food) and food writer. Travel was a part of my previous job, I traveled to most of Vietnam (both cities and rural areas) and many developed countries. From there, I grew the passion of sharing to everyone about Vietnamese cuisine and culture, about my journey, and listening to journeys of others!

Where you'll be

A tea-house located inside French colonial-style apartment building. This building can tell a story of itself, because its age is more than many of us (including me).

Very passionate and knowledgeable about not only tea but the history and culture of Vietnam. I joined Tho's tea-ism with my 2 friends, food and tea nerds, and they also loved it! We tasted many kinds of Vietnamese summer tea, which were picked in the Northern mountain area of VN and were handmade. Vietnamese tea is not only Lotus tea and each season has each beautiful tea. It was exciting to hear that the tea lovers in VN are experimenting with new tea culture. She answered all the burning questions from us with fluent English and that made us want to learn more from her! We encourage her to do more workshops to let foreigner know about Vietnamese genuine culture. Because she has much potential and knowledge. Maybe in the future, her workshop will be very popular and hard to make reservations? ;) Thank you so much for a wonderful and deep experience! We want to book your experience again to try another seasonal tea with you!

Tea time with Mandy was wonderful. She took me to a beautiful tea house which might be difficult to find for the first time visitor. She shared her knowledge of tea in Vietnam. We shared pomelo green tea from the tea house and had great conversation about tea, culture and history. She is kind, knowledgeable and interesting. I highly recommend her tea experience!
