The teacher is a Pennsylvania native and started flame working in 2013 while attending Slippery Rock University. While working towards his degree he studied flame working under a local master Tom Doner. After graduating with a BS in Fine Art and Sociology he then went on to build his first studio in Saxonburg, PA. There he perfected his craft by producing a plethora of wholesale wares for local shops. Sean then moved to Pittsburgh to pursue his discipline in a more energetic art scene. From there he studied both flame working and hot shop techniques. During this time period Sean also welcomed his beautiful daughter Eliza.
In 2019 he began working at Glassworx Gallery as the Studio Director conducting classes and demos, all while producing in shop and personal work. 2020 has brought new work, ideas, and glass philosophy. Everyth

Lots of fun! My hope was to make something with as little help as possible, and the instructor was perfectly attentive and hands off except when needed. Wish I could do it again!

My boyfriend and I went to one of Gian's glassblowing classes for a date night and had a great time. We ended up making glass pendants that could be sized for jewelry, hung in a window, or used as an ornament. Gian was a great instructor, very helpful, and provided great advice for our first time working with glass.

Sam was the BEST! We chose this experience as something different that just sounded fun to do with my Mom for her 70th birthday. It did not disappoint! Sam was very knowledgeable and took extra time after the class to answer all of our questions. The best part? We had beautiful mementos to take home, put on display, and always remember this great trip. Highly recommended!!

This glassworking experience was really fun! One on one teaching with personal creativity built right in! Good for beginners (we had never worked glass before) and we came home with some lovely pieces!

I enjoyed my first glass blowing experience! Neat industrial type setting and I would enjoy a longer follow on session too!
