What you'll do

This is a magical tour that takes you into the forests & cornfields of the rural Mayan communities of Yucatan, their homes, gardens & cenotes.

You will meet real sustainable communities that have been living off the land for generations, growing their own food and using the natural resources of the jungle to build their homes.

The scenery is lush tropical forest, inhabited by the abundant wildlife of the region: monkeys, birds, reptiles, insects, felines and much more. The jungle is full of life: the sounds of nature & our expert guide lead you into the heart of this vibrant ecosystem. We ride mountain bikes, hike jungle trails looking for wild monkeys, paddle canoes on a pristine lake, swim & relax, connecting with the natural world and a people who live in harmony with it.

Expect to see some resident wildlife, discover the art of local honey extraction, sample delicious homemade delicacies, make tortillas & salsa and have a huge amount of fun at the same time.

Moving through the varying landscape of roads, trails, organic gardens, traditional homes, ancient Mayan ruins, high forest & lakes, this is an active & inspiring means to discover the Mayan world.

Where you'll be

The Mayan family we work with open their home to us to share insight on their lives: how they build, grow their food, which plants they use for medicine and so much more.

Punta Laguna: a nature reserve run by the local community who use forest conservation instead of exploitation to generate an income for the village.

We have a special relationship with these communities, having worked directly with them for over 10 years, they know & trust us.

The tour is very fun, active, beautiful locations as well as the engagement with locals was amazing. Ider (hopefully I spelled it right lol) was an AMAZING guide, He was fun and knowledgable. The cenote is one of a kind. However if you are not adventurous enough this might not be for you.

I had a really amazing experience on this tour, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a full-day experience that is a bit more off the beaten track. It ended up being a private tour, as no one else had signed up for the day. Iber was my guide, and he was very knowledgable and fun to talk to the entire day. We went to a really beautiful cenote, and spent a good amount of time biking on peaceful stretches of road and through forest trails. As a physically active person, I really enjoyed this aspect of the tour. However, my favorite part of this experience was visiting the traditional Mayan homestead, meeting the family, and eating a traditional Mayan meal. This was such an incredible experience, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn more about their way of life. The tour ended at Punta Laguna, an amazing body of water complete with canoeing and ziplining. I highly recommend this tour-- it was definitely a highlight from my trip to Mexico.

What a beautiful day for my girlfriend and I. Our guides Ursula and Iver were both amazing. Ursula is super kind, passionate and easy to connect with. Luckily we were the only 2 members of the experience so we were able to go at our own pace. We arrived at the most beautiful cenote and had the entire place to ourselves. It was very romantic and spiritual. Visiting the mayan home was a once in a lifetime experience. The family is so kind and humble and they opened their home to us with love and cooked us a delicious meal. Finally we ended the trip at a beautiful lake as we sat on the dock with our feet in the bright blue water as the little fish nipped on our skin like they use in spas. This was the best, most memorable day of our vacation to Tulum. Highly recommended!

I VERY highly recommend! This tour was awesome, and better than I expected. I booked it because I saw that they had great reviews, and it’s true, this trip is amazing. We got to meet a Mayan family, we ate food that they prepared for us, and it was so delicious and amazing to see how they live. We jumped into a stunning cenote, we ziplined, we canoed in a beautiful lagoon. By far, best experience in Tulum. Our tour guides were so great (Alex and Niko), they made the trip awesome!
