What you'll do

First we’ll do a quick tour of the studio so you’ll know where everything is. Then I’ll demo how to throw a pot on the wheel. After that you can choose from various projects you might make. We’ll go over the steps to complete your project and then get started. If you want to take a spin on the potter’s wheel you can do that too. You'll also learn basic hand-building techniques that anyone can do. You'll relax and enjoy the creative atmosphere while getting your hands dirty and trying a craft that is centuries old. No pressure or stress, just fun and creativity!

After over 20 years of making and teaching pottery I really appreciate the Airbnb experience idea! I truly love teaching and meeting people, and this is a great way to let anyone participate in making pottery in a fun, relaxed environment. There's something about clay and the 3D aspect as well as the total transformation of the kiln firing that makes it an ever challenging and exciting art form.

My Mother and I had been wanting to try the pottery wheel and glad our first experience was with Rita. She's patient given her level of expertise, gives step by step instruction and has a great sense of humor.

Ritas pottery class was neat. I was glad we were able to actually sit and throw. I wish the demo didnt take up a whole hour but it is a lot of information to obtain. Dino was really cool. I love his personality. The take home peices were a nice touch.

Throwing clay and hand molding was enjoyable. The host Rita and partner Dino were very welcoming and explained everything well. Wish there was enough time to make our own piece to take home. But otherwise a great experience for the entire family.

Rita was great! We had a blast, and we learned a lot about a new art form. She made sure we all got one on one attention and felt special.

Such a fun experience! Rita was friendly along with her assistant Dino and the passion they have for pottery is so obvious! My husband and I loved getting a turn on the pottery wheel! It was so much harder than Rita made it look, but still super fun even though we did not make anything worth saving. Rita’s studio is lovely and has a front area with all of her personal pieces of art that are for sale! Instead of keeping something that we made, we opted for purchasing something that was made by Rita and much more beautiful! We had such a wonderful time. Thank you Rita and Dino!
