Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Experience hosted by Israel

  1. 6 hours

What you'll do

Enjoy a magical coastline hike starting from the charming fishermen town of Boca de Tomatlan to the isolated town of Las Animas, crossing several hidden beaches such as Colomitos, Madagascar, La Troza, Maraikas and El Caballo, all of them gorgeous beaches that few people know. Along the way, we will cross 5 km of tropical jungle where we might watch a variety of birds, crabs and iguanas. If we are really lucky, we might watch a stingray, a sea turtle or a whale at the sea. Swim and enjoy Colomitos and amaze yourself with a huge variety of natural landscapes while we take you some pics with our Rebel T6 Camera. Plus we can bring some Snorkeling gear (available upon request only) Enjoy a delicious breakfast from Elforoteo (My brothers' Cafe) and a Mexican Cinnamon Coffee, a cocktail or a beer at one of Las Animas' sea restaurants. You might enjoy sea food there too (optional) or have another swim. We will return back in an aquataxi back to Boca de Tomatlan.

This hike was amazing! Israel was great in communication from beginning to end. It was only my Wife and I on this hike, we were the only group of who booked that particular day so that was awesome to have the hike to ourselves. The hike was definitely intense so if you do not workout or stay fit, start on it now! Definitely recommend hiking shoes, we wore nike running shoes and we would slip on rocks and loose dirt. There are some spots during the hike that are bit dangerous like being on the cliff and no railings, but it is a hike in the jungle so its expected and we were being extra cautious. Take water you will need it. We stopped at Colomitos beach, Los Trozos, Playa Caballo and Las Animas. Take money for the coconuts to eat and drink at Playa Caballo and food at Las Animas. We did see Playa Madagascar and another beach I can’t remember the name. I will totally do this when we go back to Vallarta. Thank you Israel.

We had a fabulous day doing a private hike with Israel! There's no way we would have found this hike without his guidance, and he made the entire trip seamless. We were so lucky to be the only ones swimming at the first beach he brought us to, which was magical. And the food at the end of the trip was the best we had during our whole trip. We had a blast!

I had a great time with Israel! He’s very nice and accommodating. The hike wasn’t bad at all—I did it in sandals but consider myself an advanced hiker. The locations were all gorgeous and I recommend the experience.

This was an amazing experience. Israel is a wonderful guide. Getting to see the small towns, beaches, homes and little hotels by hiking along the coast was really amazing. We had a fabulous view the entire way. And, stopped for a coconut at one of the beaches, which was a nice surprise. The hike was a little more challenging than I expected but absolutely worth it. Israel provided tasty sandwiches that kept our energy up! I loved that we hiked one way and then took a boat back, so we got both land and sea experience. Highly recommend this experience!
