What you'll do
At the 1250 year old World Heritage “Kasugataisha Shrine, 15min. daily morning prayer for peace is conducted. However, there's no English guidance how to join/observe the prayer inside the shrine hall. We are the first and sole guides for the morning ceremony with multilingual pamphlets approved by the Shrine, and will invite you to the mystic and spiritual ambiance of inner shrine area only known to Japanese. Followed by the visit to the inner-cloister area of the Shrine, let's talk and know about Nara people's mind of co-existence with mother nature, deer, shrines, and temples over 1000 yrs with Akiko! She, as Nara-native, can also introduce other power spots! The walking tour will be continued to “Kikuichi Monjyu Shiro”, a traditional and famous swordsmith and cutlery shop. Touching a real antique sword will surely be a fun experience. Next visit to Nigatsudo temple and the Great South Gate of Todaiji (both are national treasures), etc, will trigger such interesting stories as why the ancient emperor had to build such a huge Buddha statue and temples. We hope you will find many origins of Japanese tradition out of Nara with us!
Akiko is a Nara-native already conducting many exp. on Airbnb. Not only being a certified pro-guide, she makes unique story-telling of spirituality as well as how people' s life has been closely interacted with shrines and temples, which cannot be performed by other usual guides. This is proved by her repeated guiding the Upaya Zen center from U.S. Atsuo, living in Naramachi after more than 20 yrs of international travel and overseas life, supports this plan taking advantage of his special relationship with Kasugataisha shrine. He will accompany Akiko depending on #of guests.
