This experience really elevated our stay in Jodhpur from good to amazing. Our liason Om was pleasant, warm and very knowledgeable about the area and culture. Every artisan we met as a part of the experience was welcoming and extremely talented. The Bishnoi world view and values are real food for thought and the simplicity and purity of their way of life is inspiring. This experience has certainly left a mark on us.

My partner and I went in with a fair bit of expectation. The description said we would be learning about life in villages. Chhotaram came to pick us up and was friendly. We spotted a few blackbucks, nilgais, and tortoises. However, he was constantly on the phone both during the entire experience and even while on the highway. This felt indifferent and detached. The entire experience while being marketed to be of villages is of a small, remote suburb. We first went to a house in the Bishnoi community to see how their house was set up. There was the basic show-and-tell for about five minutes and we proceeded to leave. We were a little taken aback as we thought there would be some interaction and more time spent there. Our next stop was a potter's house and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We got a chance to sit at the wheel and make pots as well. After this, we went to Chhotaram's place. He comes from a family of weavers and demonstrated his craft in under 2 minutes. We would have liked him to elaborate a bit more on the technique and history. He immediately went on to sell us the 'durries' he had on-premise. It felt like a tourist-trap at this point. The food served was simple with wholesome flavours and was a hearty meal. Post this, we went to a textile shop on the highway which felt like regular-commissioned-tourist-trap. As Indians, the entire thing felt very staged. This experience might hold appeal to foreigners.

Very well organized, punctual , accommodating host. Om, our (me & my daughter) guide (who's Chhotaram's younger brother) was excellent. He went the extra mile to ensure our desire for Black Buck sighting. We loved Chhotaram & Mamta's hospitality. Mamta's bajre ki rotis were superb!

This is a brilliant experience if you’re in the Jodhpur area! First we went to see some wildlife; we saw wildebeest, gazelles and a big pack of the rare black buck which was so cool and so beautiful! Chhotaram was really knowledgeable about all the animals. Next we saw a traditional opium ceremony which was really cool - not something you see everyday! Then we went to see the pottery made by a family which has been doing it for 400 years! We also got to try doing some pottery ourselves which was really fun. Then Chhotaram took us to his home and showed us the intricate weaving of textiles and told us about the history of the craft which was really interesting. Finally, we had a traditional Rajasthani meal cooked by his family all made from local produce - it tasted amazing!!! If offered, you must try their chilli garlic sauce!! Thank you so much Chhotaram for such a lovely day!

This was the best day I had in Rajasthan. First a jeep safari to spot blackbuck, nilgai, and mongoose. Then a learning about (and having a go at) the artisan crafts in the village. Then getting to know the Bishnoi people (including the wonderful hosts), their culture, their history, and their amazing handwoven rugs. Lunch was great too. Other similar tours exist but none of them will be as authentic and welcoming as this coming from the people themselves. If I ever come back to Jodhpur, I'd do this again.
