What you'll do
Board Kamehameha to explore my favorite routes under sail! After you meet me and my first mate at the seating area near the waterfront, we will proceed for boarding. Once aboard, I will brief you about the experience and let you accommodate. We will then prepare the boat for the magic of sailing! The sailing experience starts by the foothill of Sugar Loaf where the views of the Corcovado and its statue of Christ, The Redeemer, unfolds before your eyes. As we progress, I can teach you some sailing tricks, if you're interested. I will also help you identify different sites we sail by including Flamengo Beach, Santa Teresa, Centro, the airport, the historical fortresses built mid-16th century, and also different areas of our sister-city Niterói, across the bay. I am always keen to briefly stop for swimming. But that will depend exclusively on my judgement on the quality of the water both inside or outside of the bay. Sailing outside of the bay is only possible when the seas are calm. Safety and comfort of all guests are on top of my priorities! Midway through the experience, we'll share drinks and snacks. If you prefer a more peaceful atmosphere, calmer seas and warmer midday sun, please reserve our late morning experience. On the other hand, if you want to add more punch to your experience and crown it with a spectacular sunset, join our mid afternoon sail experience.
Born and raised in Rio, I grew up splitting my time between my true passions (sailing, the oceans, Rio) ... and corporate jobs! In '08, I closed my career cycle as CEO of an international bank to become a full-time sailor, duly licensed by the Navy for sailing international waters. As owner and captain of Kamehameha, a beautiful 39.5-foot sailboat, I have sailed thousands of miles along Brazil's coastline. Now I want you to become part of my story! Maybe I will be lucky you also fall in love with sailing. But I will be happy if you just lay back, contemplate and smile while we do it! I would like this experience to be life-changing for you too! Daniel, my son and first mate, is also passionate about sailing! He will be delighted to share stories about Rio and his overseas sailing trips. Let us now share our passion with you!

Please introduce yourself to the receptionist, check-in and proceed down the hall towards the seating area by the waterfront, where you will wait for me. While waiting, connect to WI-FI, snap shots, but remember: be back on time to the meeting spot!
