What you'll do

Our walking tour will introduce you to entrepreneurial life in Tallinn, offering you the unique experience to learn the basics from a local entrepreneur and digital marketer.

A former tv performer, originally from Austria, I now run my own local startup. Over the past 2 years, I have been a participant in many a hackathon in Estonia and Latvia, as well as participated in accelerators. My network is big and colourful, and I am always happy to help other innovators (or the innovation curious) grow and learn.

For the past year, I have worked as a local guide for Lokafy, hence am also a source of knowledge on how to integrate best into the local culture and mindset (if relocation is an issue).

During our tour, we will walk from Hobujaama to Telliskivi, learn about local startup, investment and entrepreneurial culture as we pass by a few of the most famous startup incubators, accelerators and startup facilitators in town.

Throughout our walk, I will give you the knowledge to navigate the scene fast and efficient as a newbie (e-)resident, entrepreneur or startup investor.

Connect with the local ecosystem, accelerators, VCs, investors, and co-working spaces fast. Learn how to approach Estonian culture, and life in general, as a curious, foreign investor or entrepreneur.

Save precious time by knowing who to talk to, how and when.

Hello, Grüss Gott and Tere! I am an Austrian e-commerce entrepreneur and performance artist, who originally stumbled upon Estonia via their e-residency programme. Eventually, I decided to move to Tallinn, because I fell in love with the beautiful landscape and its many opportunities.

BBC Travel recently featured my input on digitalisation in Estonia on their blog: http://www.bbc.com/travel/story/20190630-five-countries-on-the-frontline-of-tech

I designed this walking tour to introduce foreign entrepreneurs and investors to Tallinn as a location for doing business, and introduce (future) (e-)residents to the local peculiarities. As a former tourist Guide (Lokafy, GYG), and with a unique perspective on Tallinn, I can give you both a cultural as well as an economic overview on Tallinn and its business and startup scene.

Where you'll be

From general, practical knowledge on how to navigate here as a foreigner (on business), sightseeing tips and shopping, as well as introducing you to the business centres, incubators, and workspaces, I can also give you tips on where to get authentic, Estonian food, and see some amazing places regular tourists rarely to never get to see.

This tour was great, very detailed with lots of good information. Alexandra did a good job of giving me a balanced view of the pros and cons of doing business in Estonia, told me some stories about her own experience in Tallinn, and gave me cues and tips both for business and local life. Also, the documentation which she gave me after will save me a huge amount of time and will be super useful in integrating myself with business communities and meeting locals. I highly recommend this experience!

I had been in Estonia a few days prior to meeting up with Alexandra. I also had a little bit of knowledge about business in Estonia. Alexandra took me around various business areas, and provided insights into doing business / setting up in Estonia. She included aspects of culture, as well as facts. She has also provided me with a very comprehensive document providing background material on business in Estonia as well as loads of websites to follow up on. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and perhaps we will meet again when I return to Estonia. Thanks Alexandra!

Alexandra is a very talkative and insightful guide who demonstrate strong passions in start-up business in Tallinn. She plays an active role in the circle and even invites me to attend local event meeting some local friends. I love her good faith trying to share and answer as much as she know. And after the trip, we will get a word document listing out all information about starting business here, including funding, hackathon, job search, housing etc. I am surprised she can get me into a co-working space for visit. And love her non-touristy route design although you may have to walk quite a long time. I would highly recommended this tour if you wanna create a start-up business in Estonia.
