This two and a half hour walking tour spans three miles and concludes with tapas meal at The Barrel Room. Colonial and revolutionary history- See the Norfolk Mace, a prized symbol of Norfolk's Sovereignty since 1754 and the British cannonball lodged in St. Paul Church since 1776. Centuries of progress- See visionary Peter Wright's home and hear his story. In 1900, Mr. Wright headed the gas, railway, and ice industries and was the first to drive a car down Main Street. Todays Renaissance-In 1973 Norfolk installed the Commercial Place Fountain sparking a 40-year revitalization of our downtown that continues today.
