What you'll do

We will meet at the Kasilof State Recreation Area, located at the corner of Sterling Highway and Spetz Ave, approximately 12 miles south of Soldotna, AK

You'll receive a safety briefing on the boat and equipment as well as waders, boots, rods and reels.

From there we'll climb aboard a 5 person drift boat into the glacial aqua blue waters of the Kasilof River. We'll be targeting some of the worlds largest salmon during the trip. We'll will target Sockeye Salmon, Silver Salmon, or King Salmon depending upon which species is coming up the river that day.

There are 17 miles of river to explore. The headwaters of the Kasilof begin at Tustamena Lake which is the 8th largest lake in Alaska.

Throughout the day we'll discuss the ecology of the river, the critical habitat and how salmon use it, salmon behavior, specifics of spawning. We'll clean your fish for you and teach you how to do it and well as discuss all the great recipes you could make!

These trips are full-day trips and take between 7 and 8 hours.

Raised in Alaska, attending Kenai High School, and fishing the Kenai Peninsula waters since I was a kid, I love sharing the experience of fishing the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers for our legendary King, Silver, and Sockeye salmon runs.

I've been a professional electrical engineer, a senior management executive for a couple different fortune 100's, a commercial airline pilot flying under the American Airlines flag, and I am still an active flight instructor.

None of those careers bring the satisfaction and friendships that come from helping people experience the amazing outdoor world of Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula.

I love helping people experience the fishing trip of a life-time and when you feel one of our powerful Kenai River Salmon start peeling line from your reel you'll understand the passion I have for this as well!
