What you'll do

Hello, we are Georgia and Kostas, two lovers of athenian history, and epecially of greek, folk music. Let us take a walk with you in some of the best secret places of our city where special music lives used to be organised, let us share with you the story of Rembetiko, which is absolutely similar to the Blues of America, to the Fados of Portugal and to the Tango of Argentina. If greek musicians of our folk music were writers, they would absolutely be like the Beatniks.
Before starting our walk, we will enjoy all together a welcome special shot! During the walk, many surprises will make your mood. In the end of our walk, we will eat and drink together, listening to live music played from guests musicians especially for you, in a cozy and non-touristic greek taverna.
You can choose between Athens or Pireus or both! For each of those two regions, we have prepared for you different spots and different stories. Let us surprise you in this wondeful wandering! Do not forget your cameras.

This was the best day of my trip so far. If you are a fan of traditional music, culture and art in general or just want to discover the best places to eat in the city that are impossible to find alone then do not think twice. Georgia was very friendly and passionate about sharing her love to the city and its cultural scene with others.

Christmas Eve with a welcoming new friend. This was such a great, unique, diverse experience. We got to try a special local drink, saw amazing street art. And even an artist was creating right next to us on the tour. We met local, musical instrument crafters. Learned about the history of places. Had a lovely, very fresh snacks, and a meal. She took us to the places we would have never found on our own. She was very friendly, helpful, and experienced. She shared many stories and gave recommendations for the rest of our time in Greece. And because it was a special holiday she even brought us to a church to light a candle and gave me a thoughtful present. Outstanding, personable tour!

This is a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend it to everyone who is interested in music and everyone who is interested in the discovering parts of Athens and its history that is off the usual tourist trail. Georgia was a wonderful young host - welcoming, kind and knowledgeable. She is also a local journalist and a very fine Rembetika singer. She showed us round parts of Athens which we did not know - Exharia, the central markets and Neapolis and wove in the story of Rembetika, like the Blues or Fado, a traditional folk music of the poor. Our tour finished at a wonderful Taverna far from the tourist world where we ate lovely food, drank wine from jugs and listened to the magical sounds of Rembetika played by excellent musicians with songs sung by Georgia herself. It was a unique experience.

Kostas turned out to be my Airbnb landlord in Athens so it was extra convenient for me to enjoy the walk :) Georgia was not available so Kostas showed me a variety of what Athens city centre offers and we ended up in a local restaurant with a nice live band performing Greek music. Kostas is a very knowledgable intellectual and extremely passionate about art and culture, it was a memorable Xmas eve and I would definitely recommend the walk with Kostas and Georgia!
