What you'll do

I will show you and your friends why there is a rumor that Norwegians are born with skies on their feet. Cross-country skiing is the Norwegian go to activity during the long winter. If you take a look at the medal statistic for the winter Olympics you will see that Norway is at the podium. And if you join me I will show you why.

If you book a session during weekdays Monday - Thursday you will get a unique experience like no other. We will ski under the light of the stars.

Remember, this is an outdoor winter sports activity. You need to be properly dressed for winter activities, I recommend some technical clothing.

For this activity you need to be able to endure at least three hours of physical activity. We will ski approximately 10 km.

If this is your first time with skis on your feet please let me know so I can adjust the rout after your skill level.
Other things to note
This activity requires moderately physical condition. You should at least be able to endure 3 hours of physical activity.

The best feeling about cross-country skiing is when you feel the wind against the cheeks and hear the skies slip through newly-traced tracks. My love for this sport goes a long way back, as a youth I was a active cross-country athlete compeeting in various distances. Now I enjoy the winter season skiing around the slopes of Oslo and Jotunheimen, and occasionally I sign up for small races. My favorit race is the populare "Birkebeinerløpet " a long-distance ski marathon with a distance of 54 km.

It was a unique experience and Håkon and his girlfriend are both very welcoming, friendly people who do their best to provide an amazing experience. However personally I felt the price of the experience was high considering the size of the group. When I booked there were two other guests listed but we ended up being a group of 7. This meant there was not a lot of specific guidance and we ended up mostly skiing by ourselves. For this reason I felt the experience was overpriced also because similar experiences were offered at about half the price, but these were already booked. I also was expecting to ski more like a long stretch in the Forrest but instead we just went in circles on a pretty crowded area. Nonetheless Håkon and his girlfriend were very nice and I would definitely recommend skiing with them in smaller/private groups if money isn’t an issue!

This is not the same as skiing in general. Thank you Hakon for taking me to know Cross-country skiing. This is a special skiing method in Norway. It is recommended to come to Norway to experience it, and Hakon is very kind and warm. He is happy to share the Norwegian lifestyle. Patiently answering all kinds of questions, this is the most rewarding of my trip. This is a very unforgettable experience. I recommend everyone to come.

Wonderful experience. We went for round trip to a cabin and back. The way over was hard work with standard cross country skiing and also up the hills. The break after 4 to 5 kilometers was very welcome to rest and drink a bit. The way back, as promised, was easier with more downhill skiing. It was nice to be in a small group of six. In that way Håkon was able to attend to all of us. This is a great way to see what Norwegians do in their free time.

Håkon had everything we needed to make the 10km trail, was friendly, helpful & a pleasure to spend time with. He allowed us plenty of time to stop & grab a bite to eat & cool down before heading back. A fair amount of up & down on the trail with minimal total elevation but a couple of steeper runs that had me on my ass 😂 more than once. A great afternoon enjoying a truly Norwegian activity. I saw more Norwegians smiling here than my entire week of travels in Norway.
