What you'll do
We will begin by studying the mores, habitats, visions of the polar fox by walking towards our places of observation. We will be two groups, observers and photographers. Observers will have the privilege of seeing everything from a distance and they will warn photographers who will hide to try to take the most beautiful shots of polar foxes. On the way back, we will enjoy a wonderful hike with the opportunity to see seals, eagles, whales and Gyfalcons.

I am a tour operator and I organize daily excursions for biologists and photographers to bring them closer to the polar foxes. I know fox mores and fjords like my pocket and I know how to rebuild the course of foxes to find them quickly. I propose you to see wild and fearful foxes in their true habitat and this outside the natural reserves, it is thus a unique and precious experience.
All hosts must follow guidelines created with World Animal Protection.
Caring expert hosts
Learn from biologists, conservationists, farmers, and more.
Meet over 300 kinds of animals, from alpacas to zebras.
Where you'll be
You will discover a condensed West Fjords, rugged mountains, Tundras, beaches, coves and that in the middle of nowhere on land abandoned by everyone. A surprising landscape with strange shaped volcanic rocks, rock bubbles, basaltic columns ... The animals are wild, not baited and free from their movement. They may not be at the rendezvous but the probability of seeing them is very high

Rodolphe and Stephanie are professional photographers and love wildlife. They know where to find arctic foxes even if this is a not very well-known place (which means we were alone in the place:) ). They also know how to find them there, approach them without disturbing their daily life/activities. They are really passionated, know the foxes one by one, their history, which one is more scared by human, how to approach (or not) each one of them and how to take beautiful pictures of those amazing creatures. Moreover, they made all their possible for us to see them. Indeed, we were not lucky during the morning, and then, we stayed a very long time in the place, almost 10 hours long to see them and enjoy this very special moment! Finally, I would like to point out the fact that they don't feed arctic foxes to attract them as they need to stay away from human beings and find their own food by themselves. This rule is not always respected by people who want to see wildlife but Rodolphe and Stephanie are very very respectful with respect to this rule as it is important for them to preserve nature.

First off, I saw a fox and I wouldn’t have been able to do that without my guides. So in that regard, the trip was a success. I do think there is room for improvement, like bringing a packed lunch for guests, especially at $200 that should be expected. I’ve been on quite a bit of guided trips and they always provide food and hot drinks. I also think checking in with guests to see how they are feeling throughout the trip is the key to being a good guide. I had to tell them that I wanted to leave. I was the only guest and it was getting dark out. It really shouldn’t have gotten to that point.

We hiked about 15km in the artic fox habitat/territory ooking for foxes. The hike was awesome. Being along the coast we were lucky enough to see whales, dolphins and seals, which was a bonus. Rodolphe was very passionate snd knowledgable about the arctic foxes, knew the trek very well, and made the tour a truly Icelandic experience. With the knowledge gained I was able to spot a brown fox on the way back. Loved every bit of it, and it was a wonderful way to spend my birthday
