What you'll do

You'll get a hands on farm tour and learn about what it takes to raise some of the most coveted wool breeds in the country. You can bottle feed lambs (during the spring and when available), hold them, and touch some of Namaste Farms champion animals. You'll participate in a working border collie demo and learn what these talented and highly trained dogs really think they're doing (it's not really work to them). If you think you're commanding enough to work the dogs, you might try a go at working Lacey or Nesta on one of the flocks. If working a dog on sheep isn't your thing, you can see what it takes to get the fleece off the animal in a shearing demo and help me trim sheep feet and skirt the fleece. Beyond the nuts and bolts of farming sheep, I'll show you what we do with the wool once it's off the animal. If you love a pro-active experience, try your hand at hand spinning wool into yarn. Navigating the spinning wool delights all and you'll have a mini skein of yarn (spun by you) to take home. If you love animals, here's your opportunity to interact and discover fulfilling life of a farmer. You'll leave Namaste Farms with a smile and the experience of a lifetime.

My husband and I had a great time with Natalie at Namaste Farms. The farm is very cool and she takes care of a lot of animals. She has a Master’s in Animal Science and really shares all her knowledge. There are lots of animals to pet and feed. The animals are well taken care of. I would go again to see the yarn making.

Authentic and extremely informative experience of the ins-n-outs of a real working farm. Natalie has comprehensive knowledge of animal care, as well as a refreshing passion for her craft. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone desiring a real look in to the life of a beautiful example of a Southern California working farm.

This was by far the best farm experience ever. My twins boys are 9 years old, they have not seen animals outside of a zoo or petting zoo at a pumpkin patch. This hands on experience was amazing. Natalie is a world class expert. We also stayed on site in the Hammie trailer. If you like animals, have small kids, this is the perfect farm experience.

Natalie is remarkably knowledgeable in animal science and care. It was a treat to learn from her, discover her perspective on food supply and farming requirements, as well as get a true feel for what it takes to care for and run a farm. Be sure to come with questions and a willingness to jump in. There was plenty of time with animals and experiential learning. We loved our time and would have stayed longer if we could have.

Natalie is super sweet, kind, and funny. My boyfriend and I had a great time and really enjoyed the farm. This experience exceeded both of our expectations. It is definitely a must do for any age!
