What you'll do

We’ll sail in the lagoon of Venice on board of beautiful wooden boats like the sampierotta (for groups from 1 to 4 persons) or the bragozzo (for groups from 5 to 11 persons). These boats are traditional Venetian boats and they are “flat bottomed”, they are especially made to sail over the shallow water (more than the 80% of the lagoon is shallow!) and explore every single corner of the lagoon. In pratice they are “water offroards”. They have small silent engines. We will show you how Venice was before it was funded, it will be a trip back in time. You will know why Venice was built in the middle of a shallow lagoon on the salt marsh.
Along the way you will see the venetian “countryside”, Vignole and Sant’Erasmo the islands where are produced the vegetables that you will find in the markets in Venice. Then we will stop on the island of San Francesco del Deserto. A place out of time where you will visit the franciscan monastery of St Francis d’Assis founded in 1233. Way back we will sail around the beautiful and colorful island of Burano and the ancient island of Mazzorbo and following the route of the settlers that found Venice, we will go back to the city center,

I’m Tommaso and I was born and raised in Venice. Venice is the city I love and I love its lagoon too. I explore this marvelous place since I was a kid and I am a professional sailor from 2006, sailing every day in the lagoon of Venice with my typical venetian wooden boats.I speak fluently English and I am a real expert of Venice and its surrounding areas, I know every single corner of them even the hidden ones!

Where you'll be

We’ll sail in the North Lagoon of Venice, through salt marshes and peaceful places, out of the beaten paths in a magic place out of time. You will visit a XIII century franciscan monastery on San Francesco del Deserto island, that can be reached just with private boats. Along the way you will see the islands of Vignole, Sant'Erasmo, Lazzareto Novo, Burano Mazzorbo, San Giacomo in Paugo and Murano.
