What you'll do

Imagine a place that is mysterious, magical, looking like out of a fairy tale. It's already known as having a dark past and there has been a legend about it as one of Devil's favourite place where he used to preach to the Monks. Deep in the forrest, there's a gorge surrounded by 100 foot tall majestic rock formations, an out of this world hidden place where you feel remote from the world and only the moon is required to produce the most weird and awesome effect. The water is dark red, like blood flowing in the veins of nature itself. We'll embark upon a trip at night, riding through winding country side roads, enclosed by darkening trees, looking at the horizon, where the edge of the mountains meet the stars, gazing upon the grazing cattle on the fields, like ghosts of the past. When we arrive, we get on our head torches and head into the forrest, which comes alive with moths fluttering their wings and every breath you take, there's thousands of glittering miniature lifeforms right in front of your eyes. Once we arrived, everything is quiet and alive in the same time, you're one with Nature and your senses are heightened to the maximum. You're in awe and humbled in the same time.
Other things to note
Being in middle of the night in the forrest is safe, there are no dangerous animals in Scotland, no snakes or anything that might concern you. Maybe some bats around, but they don't come close to you.

My name is Ferenc and let me be your guide tonight. I like to be outdoors as much as possible, love to travel, hike, scuba dive, anything that has adventure written on it. I have been travelling, discovering Scotland since years and so far I have been to the remotest places this country can offer from islands to hidden places, that most tourists don't even know about. Scotland is a magical place, but I can assure you that there's more here that meets the eye. This place I'm about to take you to, I know it so well, that I can almost guide you through it with closed eyes. Are you ready for it?

Where you'll be

We're going to a hidden glen in the forrest that is known for its exceptional beauty and mysteriousness. The place is even more exciting to visit at night, when there's nobody around, just us and nature itself. Being alone in the forrest at night has a special feeling to it, it's complete freedom with no boundaries and being able to discover your inner spirit that is one with this Universe. It is magical, mesmerising and a meditation in itself.

This was a unique experience for my friend and I. I like to hike but have never thought to do it at night. I certainly wouldn't do it without an expert guide like Ferenc. He made sure to go nice and slow and help us through and of the tricky parts of the hike. He was very friendly and showed us things that we would have missed if he had not pointed them out.

Great way to end our trip to Scotland, to discover a piece of paradise only known to locals. A bit dangerous, but Ferenc was very professional and helped everyone in our party, every step of the way, literally.

Ference was very professional and courteous and definitely knew the place well which was gorgeous. I was expecting it to be more than just a small hike that ended in 40 mins. I think it’s worth it for people who don’t normally hike or go out on their own. But if you are a seasoned hiker, you can do it on your own. That said, I appreciate that Ference was very helpful and punctual and I being the only person that night, being a woman, I felt safe with him.
