What you'll do

We will meet in front of Tom n Tom's coffee shop just across from state department store. We will either catch a ride to next town where we get picked up or hire a vehicle (for large groups). We will stop at Chinggis Khan statue, (note: entering horse head section of the statue is not included). Lunch served at my relatives in a Mongolian ger (yurt) in Terelj national park. Horse riding starts after lunch. First time riders (majority), intermediate and experienced riders will have fun walking, trotting and galloping in the field. Horse riding instructions will be given in English with demonstration before taking off. After riding, we will head back to the city. Expect to spend the full day out of the city and I advise you not plan other activities on this day. This trip requires 2.5-3hrs of driving one way due to partial off-roading and traffic jam.

Munkhbaatar (Mogi)

My name is Munkhbaatar or Mogi, born and raised in Mongolia. Completed high school and college in the US. A science teacher, led horseback riding and tour guide since 2012 and hosting local family experience in Terelj National Park in the last few years. I also have experience in organizing horse trekking tours and jeep tours to South Gobi, Lake Khuvsgul, Khustai national park and Western Mongolia. This experience was born out of my airbnb hosting and happens to be the very first airbnb experience to be listed in Mongolia. This experience gives an opportunity for travelers to see life in Mongolia on a horseback, what a horseman or herder/nomadic life style feels like and my attempt at helping you feel/experience what truly Mongolia is. I hope this helps and looking forward seeing you on the horseback!
