What you'll do

Our adventure begins with a drive through Floresta da Tijuca, the most visited National Park in Brazil, located in the middle of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
One of the first stops will be at Vista Chinesa, a beautiful viewpoint in the south area of Rio, with an interesting history, one of the postcards of the city!
The second stop of our tour is the central region of Parque da Tijuca, where in the past worked farms especially dedicated to coffee or sugar. There are still several buildings of this era that survive the time. We will visit several waterfalls, caves, trails and the visitors center of the park.
At the end of our tour we will return to the meeting point for a way in the middle of the forest and we will have a beautiful view of the city !
Other things to note
The Tijuca Forest has a humid and tropical climate, I would recommend bring some water, a small snack, repellent, sunscreen and eventually a rain coat, but the details will always be checked before the trip.

Where you'll be

Floresta de Tijuca is considered one of the largest national parks, in an urban region, in the world. There are innumerable trails, waterfalls, lagoons, with landscapes that seem to be taken from a book. A different activity in the middle of nature, inside the city.

We had a great time with Victor!! Because of the coronavirus situation the governement wound up closing Tijuca. No way anyone could have predicted that. So instead he took us on a tour of the beaches south of Rio. Excellent plan B. We were equally happy with this itinerary. We will 100% look him up next we're on Rio

Victor did a really nice hike, we got to hike though a cave. We saw some animals but not as many as I wanted to but it also rained so totally out of anyone’s control. Victor was very nice and it felt like I was hiking with an old friend and not a complete stranger.

Had an enjoyable tour with Victor and Lucas. Easy pick up directly from my accommodation. They took me on a their own planned route which was well thought out and had minimal other walkers on it. I got to see some different parts of the forest and some beautiful waterfalls. My hosts were were happy to take photos and answer questions. As the only person on the tour that day though it would have been better if my hosts had engaged more directly with me rather than between themselves in Portuguese (which sadly I don't speak). Both Victor and Lucas are very friendly guys, who clearly love walking and the forest. Victor especially speaks excellent English so while some efforts were made it would have felt better to be a bit more included in the conversations. Overall the tour was enjoyable though and it was a pleasure to meet both of my hosts.

Victor and his friend were very knowledgeable, friendly, and personal. They made you feel like it wasn’t a tour, just some friends exploring the forest together. Some parts of the hike weren’t expected. Challenging for others but they took their time to accommodate each and every person. Next time I’m in Rio I’m for sure meeting up with them to go on another adventure. :)

Awesome experience! We went on a beautiful hike and Victor and his friends helped us navigate the trickier parts as well as giving us an awesome tour and descriptions. The cave was so cool and we saw so many monkeys. Definitely could not have navigated this without them!
