What you'll do

Sharing a meal is a meaningful way to bring people together and forge new connections. In celebration of our newly released book, Feed Your People: Big-Batch Cooking by Big-Hearted Cooks, we have invited cooking luminaries Tanya Holland (Food Network star and owner of Brown Sugar Kitchen), Preeti Mistry (Chef and co-owner of Juhu Beach Club), and Andrea Nguyen (food writer and cookbook author) and Sam Mogannam (Co-Founder Bi-Rite Family of Businesses and 18 Reasons) to share a meal and discuss "The Power of Creating Community Through Food". Since the book is about bringing people together around the table, this experience will include a delicious selection of dishes cooked from the book including Traci des Jardin's chile verde, Preeti Mistry's Gujurati chili (vegan option) as well as main course salads and chocolate Texas sheet cake for dessert. Hosted at the Airbnb headquarters, we will dine at long tables, meet our neighbors, and learn about how to feed our people -- both literally and spiritually. Come join us!

Leslie

As the producer of the book "Feed Your People" I gathered big-batch recipes from 60 big-hearted chefs including many Bay Area stars including Alice Waters, Joyce Goldstein, Tanya Holland and more. The book was done in partnership with 18 Reasons, a beloved non-profit cooking school that hosts community dinners and fundraisers. Together we have hosted many delicious meals that bring people together to create joy, change, and connection.

About the organization

18 Reasons

18 Reasons is a beloved San Francisco nonprofit organization/cooking school that works to bring people together around food through classes, group dinners, and community gatherings led by local teachers, farmers, ranchers, and cooks. They also offer Cooking Matters classes in low-income communities on how to make healthy, affordable, and delicious meals. All proceeds support these programs.

This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to 18 Reasons.
