What you'll do

Take a small group walking tour Downtown that celebrates Las Vegas as an outdoor museum of American popular culture. My 90 minute tour begins on the steps the Mob Museum, an easy walk highlighting historic sites and Casinos and then it's onto a new arts & entertainment District - ending with a complimentary cocktail/beverage at the famed Container Park. We'll observe all safety and health protocols along the way. As the former Urban Arts Coordinator for the City, my tour is an original narrative with personal insights filled with Vegas lore; you'll hear about the Mob, hear tell the city's origin story, walk through historic Glitter Gulch with famed casinos, and get the lowdown on some of Vegas' most colorful characters. Fremont is a lively pedestrian plaza ablaze in neon - one of the great performance streets in America, with a dazzling electronic light show canopy, aerial zip line tourists, over the top buskers, a legion of flair bartenders, and a place where visitors can become part of the action. Our tour ends in Fremont East, a new retail, arts entertainment district with cozy restaurants, unique shops, hip bars, and acclaimed murals - along the way you'll get some recommendations for dinner with other cool spots to visit Downtown. We end the tour with a complimentary drink/beverage and a toast to adventure, travel and to Las Vegas as an enduring city of the American West.
Other things to note
The morning tour concludes at about noon so you'll get recommendations for lunch or dinner Downtown, with suggestions about other places to visit including the Neon Museum and the Mob Museum.

I'm an artist and a cultural planner, and formerly was the Urban Arts Coordinator for the City of Las Vegas where I worked on some very cool projects that revived Downtown - like the Neon Museum and the Arts District. I heartily embrace the local ethic that anything is possible here with hard work and vision - and that reinvention is just a part of living in Las Vegas. I have a small home-grown local walking tour company, Las Vegas Pop Culture Tours, and I love sharing my knowledge and love of Las Vegas with visitors and locals alike.

Where you'll be

There's lots of cool stuff to see on Fremont, the greatest performance street in America, with famous neon signs, historic buildings, a spectacular video screen in the sky, legendary casinos, zany street performers, and local curiosities like the hotel bar where the Rat Pack used to hang out. We'll also stroll into a new art, bar & restaurant district with a cool vibe - the contemporary counter point to the historic casino district.

I was traveling from LA to Vegas with my hubby, sister, and brother-in-law. We've been to the city dozens of times, but wanted to do something new and unique. Richard's tour was absolutely what we were looking for! He was very accommodating and was easy to communicate with. Rick was very knowledgable about downtown, showed us things we would have never seen or done on our own, and was a wonderful storyteller. I would defiantly recommend his experience!
