What you'll do

Every building has a story to tell, from the materials, technology, and styles favored when it was constructed, to the people who designed, built, lived and worked there. Events of historic proportion take place in and around buildings as well. Come with me on this journey to discover all the secrets each building on our tour is waiting to tell us.

We will be walking through Old City, visiting the oldest continuously inhabited residential street in the United States, and seeing the same buildings the Founding Fathers worked and worshiped in. Whether your interest is architecture, American History, visiting the places where Ben Franklin and George Washington lived and worked, or humming a tune from the Hamilton play as we experience Philadelphia as the Capitol of the United States, this tour is for you!
Other things to note
Bring cameras as there is much to photograph. Snacks that you like are good to have, or there are plenty of stores along the way. A hat and comfortable shoes are also a good idea to wear.

I am a Registered Architect who has lived in the City of Philadelphia since 1978. After taking a walking tour with famed City Planner Ed Bacon, I was inspired to give similar experiences of the city.
Currently residing in the Old City area of Philadelphia, I would love to introduce you to the only World Heritage City in the U.S.

Reid's knowledge of architecture and Philly history really makes this trip super amazing. Self guided tours are great and all, but having an expert walk you through and give you a glimpse into a different perspective into viewing what you see was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend anyone remotely interested in learning about Philly history and architecture!

We had a great tour with Reid this morning! He achieved a well-balanced, well-paced narrative with just the right amount of specificity on historical dates and names and architectural styles. We especially appreciated that he was always clear about what was fact and what was lore, such on Betsy Ross house and Alexander Hamilton (no spoilers)! We came away with a more nuanced understanding of why Philly is the way it is today.

Reid was amazing! We were only in Philly for a short period of time, but were glad that we did this tour. We were able to learn about the landmarks & history of the city. He was very knowledgeable, charismatic, & gave us some pointers for our next visit. I’d also like to add that the weather was very poor (raining/ cold temps.) but that didn’t stop Reid! We were thankful that he still took the time to give us this tour. It made our short trip very memorable!

A great storyteller and my friend and I learned so much and we asked plenty of questions too. I highly recommend this tour to anyone.
