Experience the true partnership of a supervised ride on gorgeous purebred horses. Created by published horse care author Carrie Eastman to introduce people to horses as conscious beings and help people understand horse-human communication. You can ride the last son of famous racehorse Forty Thieves or a rare Malabar Arabian, or a retired competitive cow herding horse from a famous barn.

Upon arrival, guests weigh in, sign a release form and are matched with their horse. Farm staff will teach you the fundamentals of horse body language and communication. Staff will assist you with mounting. Speeds are walk only for beginners and jog or trot for more confident riders. Children and beginners are on a leadline, walk only, and may take turns with a single horse. An obstacle course offers an extra challenge. Riders that have the skills and confidence may then go for a supervised short trailride, possibly on a lead line, along the scenic Groundhog meadow trail.

Guests learn partnership and communication.

Rider weight limit - 200 pounds.
Ages 5+
No differently-abled riders please. Farm is not ADA accessible.
Please bring your helmets.

I've been riding and studying horses for more than 40 years. I am the author of The Healing of Horses and The Energetic Goat, published by Acres USA. I originally learned horsemanship at the last junior cavalry school in the country, New Canaan Mounted Troop. I have years of experience with critically endangered species, from Red Wolves to Fainting Goats, and now critically endangered Arabian horse bloodlines. I worked at 5-star Hotel Hershey in their horseback riding stable as a guide. Now I specialize in introducing people to horses and horsemanship, and rare breed preservation. Our farm is one of the rare few that treats horses as fellow conscious beings, and asks the horses to be partners by their own free will in teaching people .
I am assisted by Kasey who is apprenticing under me and Lucky in horsemanship.

This was a magical experience. I've been around horses and done trail rides many times but learning how important it is to connect with a horse and learn their body language and facial expressions, as well as physiological information was priceless. Carrie is so educated and treats all the animals on her farm so well. She truly has a passion for what she does. I plan to do it again while I'm here. Highly recommended! Don't think twice about this experience. You'll come back guaranteed.

Very cool experience learning to read a horses body language, lead a horse with your body language and movements, connecting with the horse on a deeper level and then leading horse with your body movements while on it was a super enriching experience. Carrie is very knowledgeable and loved her approach to conscious riding. Loved learning about Lucky and connecting with him. The experience brought me back to being a child and riding bareback and the joy of riding.

A little sketchy at first as there are no signs outside but once you realize you’re in the right place all is well. Carrie and her “minions” are amazing and really showed us an enjoyable time. They were all so personable! It was not at all what we expected but so much better and we will be continuing are lessons. My girlfriend had never been on a horse and Carrie made her feel comfortable. I have riden many times and still learned so much. I highly recommend to everyone, even the experienced. And let’s not forget the playtime with goats! Only downside was trying to leave with my girl trying to sneak one in the car. Supper cute and fun!

Carrie and her horses are truly an experience. You can tell that all of the animals are well taken care of and all those who work there are friendly. They all care about your experience and answer any questions you may have. Be sure to bring peppermints as an extra thank you for your ride!

family had a great time. The horses were fantastic and calm. The experience was educational, and we learned about how horses communicate and what signs to look for when dealing with horses.
