What you'll do

The best Airbnb Experience about street art in Athens and one of the top things to do in the city!

In a country where public space belongs to no one, creative artists have taken their art to the streets of Athens, covering the blank, concrete buildings with their visions. In this alternative experience, we will explore five unique and cool neighbourhoods that support and showcase street art, and we will enjoy a lesser-known part of Athens.

With the view of a local expert, you will unconventionally experience our city.

We will explore some of the most alternative places and the oldest neighbourhoods of the ancient city of Athens looking for our street art that is hidden in the most improbable places.

The experience will end in the cosy neighbourhood of Kerameikos. There we will taste the best Greek souvlaki in the city! A great reward after our walk!

This is a great opportunity to come and discover the 'real Athens' from an expert local's perspective.

Other things to note!

This is an outdoor walking tour, so please dress accordingly
We are not very strict about time. The duration depends on your walking pace!

Alternative routes and private group tours are available! This is also a family-friendly experience! Please ask us if you need something special for you.

Hi everyone! My name is Kalliopi (but my friends and family always call me Popi!), and I am an Athenian girl in love with street art, travel, and photography. That's why I decided to open my company Awesome Athens Experiences that aims to support and promote the street art scene of our city.
With my husband Thomas, we love to explore our city, travel around the globe, and meet new people and places!
We are street art hunters and photographers, and our passion for urban contemporary art drove us to organize events and festivals in Athens.

Moreover, we are contributors to Street Art Cities, the largest street art community in the globe. Check our Instagram account Awesome Athens Experiences to see our everyday posts from Athens street art and graffiti.

Hope to see you soon all!

Where you'll be

We will start our walk from the area of Gazi, home to a new industrial space and exhibition center. Then we will continue to Monastiraki and Psyrri. Psyrri is the original home of street art in Athens and we will make a short break in this colorful neighborhood. We will see some street art in Omonoia and finally, we will finish our tour to Kerameikos district. In Kerameikos we will taste amazing souvlaki!

I think it’s an absolutely must see experience in Athens. Firstly, because you will see most amazing street art, and learn a lot about artists, and art techniques. Thomas has a very in-depth knowledge ( I’ve been on a few walks like this and so far this was the most interesting). Secondly, you will see a lot of awesome and not touristy areas and places. You will discover contemporary and very vibrant life of Athens.

Thomas gave an excellent tour of street art in Athens! We weaved in and around the neighborhoods to find a variety of different styles of art. I loved it and highly recommend this tour for someone looking for a refreshing take on Athens outsides of museums and archeological sites.

There is a lot of street art in Athens. I attempted a self-guided tour and quickly gave up. If you want to see the best art without getting off track or running yourself in circles, this is certainly for you. We spent time learning about some of the individual artists too. Would highly recommend this tour!

Kallioopi and Thomas Are on the forefront leading the way with street art. They’ve been involved in the very first festivals and they seem to be able to identify every artist work in detail. I highly recommend the walking tour. I will do it again when I’m back in town. So many tips along the way. Great storytelling.
