What you'll do

In order to hit the coolest spots in the city and work off our caffeine, we will meet in the historic Hampton Park and grab our bikes. After a quick introduction, we will venture to 3 local purveyors across Charleston's peninsula to taste a variety of brews and uncover different topics in coffee. We will cover an array of topics including the production of coffee and where it comes from, different brewing styles, and how to taste and analyze a cup of coffee like a pro. Depending on the day and if time allows, we may be able to include a 4th stop on our tour. Once we are fully fueled, we will head back to Hampton Park to return our bikes.

Our ride around the city will be a leisurely total of about 6 miles and will be a great opportunity to soak up some of the beautiful cityscape as we make our way around the Charleston peninsula.
Other things to note
-Check the weather and dress accordingly. Light, reflective, comfortable clothing is likely best for your ride.
-Hydrate before, during, and after our ride!
-Meeting location is described in detail under directions. There is a parking lot available for your car.

My name is Brianna and I'm a local coffee consultant and educator, certified barista, and a lead organizer for Charleston Does Coffee. For 7 years, I've been dedicated to the growth of specialty coffee in and outside of our community, learning (and tasting!) everything I could to share great coffee and knowledge with other people. This passion recently earned myself a spot as 1 of 30 in Zagat Charleston's food and beverage industry leaders. My experiences have connected me with the city's most talented and give me the "inside scoop" when hunting for the most creative and delicious coffees.

Where you'll be

We start at Hampton Park on the north side of town where there is easy parking and conveniently located bike corrals. From here, we make our way east towards the river, arriving at an old cigar factory. From there, we will visit the south peninsula and circle back through the charming districts to one of the city's first specialty shops. Finally, we will head back toward the park via iconic King St.

Brianna was very knowledgeable and had the experience to back up her expertise. The coffee tour was such a fun and relaxed experience - I would recommend it to anyone who likes coffee. Riding bikes through the city was an added bonus. Brianna was so kind and open to any questions we had. The group we were with made the experience even better. She gave great recommendations for brunch after the tour was over. Overall, loved this experience!

My mom and I took this experience our second day in Charleston. Drinking copious amounts of delicious coffee and biking around town gave us a good sense of where we were and help beat moments of jetlag. Brianna is highly knowledgeable, funny, friendly, and taught me a new appreciation for all things coffee (which I was already a big fan of). Now when I take a sip, I feel more appreciation for what I am drinking and where it came from. It was lovely, thanks Brianna!
