What you'll do

Discover the most authentic and fresh, traditional Athenian food in non tourist areas and hidden spots of the City! The type of food and places you may not find alone! Your booking cost covers all food and drink.
Tours on Monday to Saturday starting before 3pm will be in the market area. Tours starting after 3pm or on Sunday will be held in tavernas around the area of Psiri and Athinas Street.
We have been visiting the markets since we were children
and when we take you we will visit local streets and eat seasonal fruit, cheese and cured meat and see spice markets full of colour, scents and noise. We will sample olives from the farmer, oil, masticha and barrel wine made on the premises of the taverna. We will have two meals, one at a locals meze bar and one close to the market, and we will drink Greek coffee with a traditional sweet.
On tours starting after 3pm or on Sundays we will visit two tavernas and eat traditional Athenian food with ouzo or raki and local barrel wine. We will walk through the local area for night life where we will sample a sweet with Greek coffee at the end of our tour!
Many tastings offered including 2 sit down meals on both tours as you learn about Greek culture from people who live it daily.
You will have many friends in Athens at the end of this experience! Vegetarian options available.
Social distancing practised, both guides fully vaccinated.

Rachel was delightful. Her enthusiasm was infectious. She tailored it to the four of us, checking in regularly to make sure we were getting what we wanted. She spent extra time to accommodate us. First rate! Very happy to highly recommend them.

This tour was amazing! Loved every second of it. So much tasty and delicious food to sample and lovely drinks to try too. We also really loved the stories Rachel had as it made it much more interesting. It was also nice to follow a local Athenian who is an expert in the local food. Definitely recommend! You will be full for the day that’s for sure ! They made our Greek experience even more special :)
