I have a tourism agency focused on the residents of Rio de Janeiro, I am a tour guide and a tourism teacher. Almost a wonder-woman, but summing up all this I'm in love with the world of tourism.

In 2017 I was invited to travel to San Francisco - CA - USA by Airbnb to talk about my experience.

I love sharing knowledge and I want to share more about this side of the story that many people do not tell;)

This experience can also be performed by Luana. Know more about her by reading below.

This is an important cultural tour, perfectly suited for this time of heightened awareness about history and social Justice issues. A trained historian, Luana offered a well-informed perspective. Don’t overlook this aspect of Brazilian history — you’ll leave the tour with increased knowledge and a perspective that will inform your thinking in the future and over the course of your trip. Thanks for sharing the opportunity to learn and to see a part of Rio that I’ve missed on previous trips to this great city!

Luana is nothing short of amazing. She is passionate about what she does and it showed in her presentation of all the great information in the tour. Her knowledge and genuinely tender nature added the finishing touches that made us so happy we went on this tour. I hosted a group of 7 women and Luana did an amazing job at keeping everyone engaged in the details about Little Africa and the role Brazil played in slavery. We had emotional moments but this definitely came from the passion she exhibited during the presentation. I would recommend her to anyone. This tour is a must!

This is a great tour and I highly recommend it. You will see the UNESCO heritage site where the largest number of enslaved Africans were imported. You will learn about the amazing historical community of African people that came from parts of Brazil to rio before and after abolition of slavery. If you are American, I highly recommend you take this tour, there are many fascinating differences compared to the slavery in the USA. You will get to learn about the beautiful and strong African community that was preserved in Rio. Luana also told me about important Afro-Brazilians throughout history from this area. You can see the places where samba and African tradition were started and continued throughout history. I toured with Luana, and she was very knowledgeable, answered my questions, and we compared the history of USA to Brazil. After, she recommended me a place to eat lunch nearby.
