What you'll do

An afternoon visiting the sanctuary is time well-spent and a terrific experience for you or for the whole family. Promised Land's rescued farm friends love visitors as much as you’ll love meeting them! You will be touched by the animals' stories and have your own unforgettable stories to tell about your time spent with them. Set on a century farm, amidst the rolling hills and hardwood forests of rural Northumberland County, this 2-hour experience will bring you up-close and personal with our rescued farm family. Hands-on play and grooming sessions with the horses and any other animal who feels like getting some extra love. Complimentary tea or refreshing drink and vegan treats are offered at the farmhouse after your visit. ​Get your friends and family involved! Hey, I'm Kat, the founder of Promised Land Animal Sanctuary – a registered charity, volunteer-run farm, located in Campbellford, Ontario. This is a passion project a lifetime in the making. Our mission is to offer a safe haven to neglected, abandoned, unwanted and older farm and domestic animals in need. We also strive to preserve the natural human-animal – nonhuman-animal bond by educating the public about the benefits of living in harmony with all sentient beings. I love being able to make a difference and am so happy to share my passion with you.

Promised Land Animal Sanctuary

The sanctuary is a registered non-profit, volunteer-based organization. Its mission is to provide care and a safe haven to neglected, abused, homeless and older animals in need and to promote a kind and compassionate lifestyle through humane education for the public. We go above and beyond the Animal Welfare Principles set forth by Airbnb and World Animal Protection organization.

This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to Promised Land Animal Sanctuary.

Where you'll be

We will walk the grounds and visit the 100-year-old barn and meet the sanctuary residents. You will have an opportunity to interact with our farm friends, groom them, give them treats and enjoy their unique personalities. Weather permitting, we'll take the horses, dogs and goats for a walk through the wooded trails. Afterward, you're invited to the house for some tea and snacks and to share your impressions of the experience

Cancellation policy

Any experience can be canceled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside of the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 10 guests of all ages can attend. Guests should be comfortable around animals. No other dogs allowed at this time.

More tips

NOTE: There are four dogs on the property, of all different sizes. They are very energetic and will bark and try to kiss you when you first arrive. This may scare some young children who are not used to being around dogs. If you have allergies, consider taking an antihistamine before your visit.
