What you'll do
There are trails in the front range for all ages, fitness levels, and interests. This particular hike is considered difficult, but pays off by allowing you to summit the tallest peak in Boulder, which features wild flowers, streams, and mountain views. What you can expect to experience are picturesque mountain views, lush forests, cool streams, and my friendly dog to encourage you along the way. If you'd like to save some money and support a local company's mission in helping guide mental health outdoors, book through my company, Cairn Outdoor Guides. You can also contact me to discuss other hiking options if this hike isn't quite what you're looking for. You could also download the Cairn Guides app to find other local outdoor experts in your area! Review the "Things to Know" section of my website at www.cairnguides.com if you have questions about what to bring. You can expect to hike anywhere from 5-6 hours as this trail is approximately 7.5 miles round-trip. Duration may vary depending on fitness level and trail conditions. This does require significant physical exercise hiking on sometimes snowy, rocky, and/or slick surfaces. There is also potential to encounter wildlife, such as mule deer, black bears, and/or rattle snakes
After hiking throughout CO for many years, I started my own outdoor guide company, Cairn Outdoor Guides with the goal of helping guide mental health outdoors. We specialize in crafting adventures for people based on their interest and abilities to make the most out of their outdoor adventures in hopes they'll keep engaging in them in the future. Having hiked throughout Colorado for nearly 6 years now, my goal is to show locals and visitors some of the incredible places that Colorado has to offer that require a local's knowledge and isn't something that you would find in a brochure. Additionally, I've spent the majority of my life working with and researching various aspects of mental health, which make my company a big proponent for using exercise and the outdoors to benefit individual's mental and physical health.

Where you'll be
We'll start at Sprouts to verify everyone has the necessary supplies and that they're working properly. Once that's confirmed we will drive together or separate to the trail and begin our adventure. Each day can present unique features such as incredible photo opportunities, wildlife, rock formations, or places to "take it all in". After the hike we'll grab lunch together at a local restaurant and round out the experience with food and drinks.
