What you'll do

There are trails in the front range for all ages, fitness levels, and interests. This particular hike is considered difficult, but pays off by allowing you to summit the tallest peak in Boulder, which you can expect to experience picturesque mountain views, lush forests, cool streams, and my friendly dog to encourage you along the way.

If you'd like to save some money and support my business and it's mission to guide mental health outdoors, look up Cairn Outdoor Guides where you can easily book this activity and others like outdoor yoga and trail running. We also offer a flex plan that makes getting outside even more affordable.

You can also contact me to discuss other hiking options if this hike isn't quite what you're looking for or have other questions. I recommend you review the "Things to Know" section of my website at www.cairnguides.com if you have questions about what to bring.

You can expect to hike anywhere from 5-6 hours as this trail is approximately 7.5 miles round-trip. Duration may vary depending on fitness level and trail conditions.

This does require significant physical exercise hiking on sometimes snowy, rocky, and/or slick surfaces. There is also potential to encounter wildlife, such as mule deer, black bears, and/or rattle snakes
Other things to note
If you have pet allergies let me know ahead of time as these are intended to be dog friendly adventures. Note that Parking is $5/vehicle unless your car is registered in Boulder County.

Fun and safety are the name of the game, so let's get out in nature and have a blast!

After hiking throughout CO for many years, I started my own outdoor guide company, Cairn Outdoor Guides with the goal of helping guide mental health outdoors. We specialize in crafting adventures for people based on their interest and abilities to make the most out of their outdoor adventures in hopes they'll keep engaging in them in the future.

With my experience, my goal is to show locals and visitors some of the incredible places that Colorado has to offer that require a local's knowledge and isn't something that you would find in a brochure.

Additionally, I've spent the majority of my life working with and researching various aspects of mental health, which make my company a big proponent for using exercise and the outdoors to benefit individual's mental and physical health.

Jordan was extremely knowledgeable about the mountains and trails, we had lots of fun hiking and challenging ourselves getting out of our comfort zone! He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and made the hike better with his stories and left us feeling like we had a friend in the Boulder region.

My guide Kevin went above and beyond. He was very encouraging to us when the trail got hard. And I definitely would have not gotten through it without his support. It was an experience I will never forget. Beautiful views and he even took photographs of us and sent it after the hike! Thank you Kevin!

Jordan was great. Our planned hike had to change because of the snowy weather, but he immediately found a different and equally thrilling morning hike for us. The views and the people were outstanding. We learned a lot about the area, as well as Jordan's goal of helping more people discover the outdoors. If you happen to be in Boulder and feel the inclinations to explore, no matter your experience, definitely get in touch with him. You'll be happy you did.
