What you'll do

In this experience you can learn all about sheep farms and life in Ireland in general from locals perspective! Super fun, casual and interesting.

We start with a scenic hike which takes about 1 hour 15 min in duration. It’s not too strenuous, we will walk at a leisurely pace. Bear in mind you will be hiking so there is no solid concrete path. We have waterproof boots in most sizes so don’t worry about getting shoes muddy. After this we will go on to herd up some sheep with our dog Rose. Here you can get in close proximity to Ireland’s fluffiest animal.

You will get insight into how locals live in Ireland, whilst taking in some scenery and culture! Guaranteed lots of smiles & laughter along the way!

Sinead’s parents, Timothy and Kitty, led us up a mountain so that we could see the valleys on both sides. I would never have thought I could hike that far and high, but Kitty helped me. Her expertise and kind encouragement made it not only possible, but fun! We saw their sheep grazing on the way up, and then when we came down, Timothy had their dog Rose herd the sheep into a pen. He and Kitty answered all of our questions about sheep and we got to feel the wool and get photos of ourselves with the sheep. This was the best part of our visit to Ireland! I recommend it highly.

We had a great time hiking, learning about the area, and learning about sheep farming. A highlight was watching the sheep dog at work!

Sinead and Tim were so genuine, their knowledge and passion and dedication for what they do is remarkable and almost incomprehensible. They put you at your ease quickly and make you feel like you're reuniting instead of meeting them for the first time. The beauty of the hike and breathtaking surroundings combined with the full earthy, truly human experience that they provide made this the all-around highlight of our ten day trip in West Kerry, and we were busy all day, every day! Sinead and Tim, we really can't thank you enough! Our only regret ... it only lasted 2 hours, we could have gone for 6 and then sat down over dinner to hear more! God Bless you both, truly!

Great afternoon despite rain and wind to see Rose in action and learn about Sinead and Timothy’s farm. We really enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend it.

Such a wonderful and unique experience. I am so glad we made the time to go. Timothy took great pride in showing us his sheep and the expertise of Rose (the dog). Rose was a bit of a show off for us lining up the sheep. Thank you for the experience we won’t soon forget.
