What you'll do
It is said that bees enjoy a secret life, but there is a fascinating story behind that life that should be made available for all to witness!
Join us for a "Bee incredible" journey, as we explore the work of Apiarists (Beekeepers). You will be guided on a 1.5 to 2 hour tour (depending on the size of the group) encompassing the miraculous work of bees.
Bees undertake the extraordinary important job of helping to mature and grow many of the plants we enjoy and providing a food source - honey - that is globally consumed and universally loved.
If you're feeling exceptionally brave, you can don a full protective gear and open a bee hive for a closer look into the habitat of bees, the Brood Box (nest). Observe the Queen bee laying eggs, while learning about the unique roles and responsibilities of drone and worker bees. You'll be able to taste the honeycomb (if available) and sample sweet honey from the source; which has been used for centuries for its naturopathic or medicinal purposes.
This tasty, unique and exceptionally enlightening experience in beekeeping is a can't miss opportunity for nature enthusiasts and is appropriate and entertaining for all guests ages 8 and up.
If you have a large group and need a special date and time, please send a special request. I am consistently listed as 1 of the top 3 Experiences in Metro Atlanta. You will not be disappointed.
Other things to note
All participants will need to sign a waiver of risk before the Bee Experience. Starting October 1, 2019 through Spring of 2020, all reservations will be subject to weather conditions. If the temperature is below 55° F or raining, the Bee Experience will be cancelled and rescheduled.

We had a ton of fun with Edward's beekeeping experience. Edward brings his wealth of knowledge to bear while simultaneously keeping the knowledge level accessible for beginners. He gave us a mini-seminar on bee life cycles before giving us a chance to put on some beekeeper gear and handle some hives ourselves. He was also very conscientious in observing additional protocols due to COVID-19. We would love to come back and see Edward and his son (future doctor) Miles again soon!

This was an awesome experience! Edward was a fantastic host and made the experience very immersive. My favorite part was being able to hold the frames of the hive and seeing the bees so close. Edward made sure we learned about each stage of a bee’s life and each role that they play in the hive. He also took excellent COVID-19 related precautions — freshly washed suits, wore mask and stayed socially distant. We loved this time and hope to return one day!

Edward was very knowledgeable about beekeeping. Super down to earth and informative. I really enjoyed his sense of humor and the opportunity to learn about beekeeping and the community associated. Due to the weather conditions, it was up in the air as to if we would be able to but he kept us informed and I am so glad we got to come out.
