What you'll do

The most popular time to sail is sunset which provides the perfect atmosphere to get away from the daily grind. Up to at total of six guests can kick back, relax and soak up the last remaining rays of sun or be as active in the sailing of Alliance as they wish. Depending on tides, currents and wind our three-hour harbor tour will take you down the Intercostal waterway off Sullivan’s Island, out to Fort Sumter, the Charleston Battery and waterfront, up to the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, Yorktown and Patriots Point. We will circle the entire harbor while you relax on the bow, amidships or cockpit and breath it all in. It is a rare occasion when we do not see a dolphin riding our bow wake or playing in the harbor waters around Alliance. If interested in learning the finer points of sailing, put yourself to work and find out what it is like to helm a boat and trim the sails. Instruction can be freely given and you can do as little or as much as you like. Regardless of your interest level, Alliance Sailing Charter exists for your enjoyment and we will do our utmost to make your sail a memorable one.
Other things to note
It is a good idea to think of a sailing charter as you would day at the beach. A towel, camera, sunscreen and hat, etc. are all important items. Passengers should wear soft-soled tennis shoes only.

Spectacular experience! We had a great time with Mark and Caroline, they were the perfect hosts and ensured we had a safe, fun, exciting venture on their sailboat. The trip went above and beyond our expectations from their knowledge of Charlestonian historical landmarks, hospitality (waters, drinks, and blankets available and offered), and friendlyness. We had the opportunity to go out with one other party and everyone got along great, we were friends within the first five minutes and enjoyed the rest of the time together laughing and having a great time. They provided us with a second-to-none experience and concluded the night by sending us photos they took and edited for us (as professional photographers, no less!). If you're in the area, don't miss out!

My friend and I booked this trip just looking for something to do in Charleston and got way more than expected! Mark and Caroline were the best hosts imaginable. We felt super comfortable being on their boat and found out some pretty neat things about the area, too. We will definitely be booking with them again the next time we’re here again!

Don’t skip this experience on your Charleston trip! Intimate, fun, and extremely worthwhile. Mark and Caroline are great hosts and the opportunity to experience sailing and see and learn about Charleston from the water was so fun. To me, this was not intended to be a “guided tour” but rather a social, fun, outing on the water with an extra added in bit of history and knowledge of the area and it fully lived up to that!
