The best 200/400 metre sprinter in the history of track & field, Johnson’s progressions through the ranks were swift and stunning. The first man ever to be ranked number one in the world at both 200 and 400 metres and the first to win both events at an Olympic Games, he retired with four Olympic gold medals and nine World Championship golds to his name.
Michael credits his achievements to a consistent philosophy of success based on the principle that to achieve anything an individual must start with a goal. His was to be the fastest he could possibly be, and it was this that drove him to train every day, to commit to the sacrifices involved, to overcome obstacles and to achieve his personal best despite competing under unbelievable pressure.
