What you'll do

We will literally get down to earth, get centered and throw some mud. Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty and explore the depth of your creative spirit. Our master potter will demonstrate the mesmerizing process of throwing a basic cylinder on the wheel. Then its your turn to get your hands into the clay and create your own masterpiece. Anything you want to keep will be trimmed, bisque fired, glazed and glaze fired by our master potter's and made available for you to pick up at a later date (3-6 weeks). After you have created your masterpieces, the last 15 minutes of class will be for clean-up. If you want to use all your time creating, for a small fee, the teacher will do the clean-up for you, just ask.
COVID compliant Clay Class, spacing the wheels 6' apart and limiting the class to 6 participants with and robust compliance to health guidelines.
*Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can start on time. Late arrivals disrupt the flow of the demonstration and won't give you the time you will want to create.

*For a private group or team session at a date and time of your choice, please send me a message.
Other things to note

Very artsy studio. Sasi was a patient teacher. Pottery is a craft and don't expect to master it in this class. It will either reveal to you that you have aptitude for it or that one should leave it to the professionals.

We had Alex as our teacher. We were able to jump right in. He had already wedged the clay and gave a quick lesson that allowed my partner to have great luck for his first time on the wheel. My partner was able to center this very first time. I thought it was great that we got to spend so much time on trying our hands at the wheel. Thank you for giving such a great date!

Such a cool experience! We had Leslie as our instructor and she was very patient, informative and helpful. Everyone gets their own space and work station and is able to work at their own pace. The way the class is set up is easy to follow, and you get a lot of time and clay to practice and play around with on your own, so let your creativity flow!

The experience of this class totally depends on what kind of a host you have. We liked the activity but our experience could have been better if the host was more experienced by all means (communication, correct guidelines etc)

I visited this studio with a group of friends. It was our girls day out and was supposed to be fun. The host was poor at demo, communication and was quite rude. The studio isn’t equipped for short folks. If you are short, you need additional blocks to keep beneath your feet and a taller table to sit so you can get the right position on the wheel. The studio just had 2 additional blocks available and no option for a taller table. The host did not bother helping me for initial one hour of the session and asked me to keep trying better and there is nothing she can do. My back was hurting almost throughout the session. Some points that I think one needs to know before booking - pottery can be messy. There is no room to change in the studio. so you need to wear clothes that you don’t mind being spoilt - at the end of the session, you need to clean up your station which is a ~20 minutes job. - check who your host is. Our session was hosted by Candice but we had booked it initially with Steve. Overall an unpleasant experience that left me with a back ache for a week.
