Custom Self-Guided Bike-n-Brews Cruise

Boulder, United States

Experience hosted by Wendy

4 hours
Includes equipment
Up to 10 people
Hosted in English

What you'll do

You and your friends will pedal at your own pace along Boulder's scenic, flat(ish) bike paths along babbling brooks and prairie dog towns, while exploring our vibrant craft beverage scene. From local favorites to hidden gems, everyone in your COVID bubble is sure to discover a watering hole they adore. Some even offer our guests special discounts!

We will ask you a few questions about your interests and abilities and send you a customized turn-by-turn bike route via Google Maps along with optional trivia questions that will give you added insight into our zany community. No additional apps to download!

We recommend beginning your tour between noon and 2pm as you must have your bikes returned by 6pm, and in winter its dark by 5pm.

Any changes or cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance, as your custom route may need to be modified and bike rentals reservations may be difficult to change.

PRICING DOES NOT INCLUDE BIKES, which vary between $30-$75 depending if you prefer a cruiser, city bike, fat bike or e-bike. Your host is happy to arrange those for an additional fee once you make a selection. All rentals come with helmets & bike locks.

Please drink plenty of water & eat a hearty, high protein meal before arriving to mitigate the effects of altitude, which are exacerbated by consuming alcohol.

Wendy has been exploring Boulder’s cutting -edge craft beverage scene and incredible network of bike paths and trails on a daily basis since she moved to Boulder in 2008. Wendy has led bike tours across Colorado and Costa Rica , loves throwing parties and even coordinated events for Boulder's most well-loved catering company, A Spice of Life.

Her enthusiasm for this town's hidden gems, natural beauty, history and creativity is contageous, even virtually, but if you choose this self-guided option her germs wont be! :)

Where you'll be

Depending on your interests and ride schedule, we might send you to a psychedelic hole-in-the-wall nano brewery, another with secret specials whenever a train passes, a "brewstillery" offering a range of libations and food from Colorado farms, or perhaps a distillery specializing cocktails with ingredients like CBT and earl grey tea.

Depending on your cycling (and drinking) pace, guests typically have time for 3 or 4 stops.

It was our first trip ever as a couple and we had so much fun! Wendy was so friendly and made us feel welcomed she took her time to make sure we were set and geared up correctly before we took off on our bikes. She was also available throughout the whole trip in case we needed her but the map she gave us was pretty self explanatory and easy for us non bike riders to follow along. If you’re in Boulder and want a fun way to explore the city you should definitely try this! We got to go to local bars and some hot spots while also getting some nice views on the bike trails.

This was truly one of the best excursions I've done while traveling. Kristian was fantastic, the day was perfect. The route was beautiful and Kristian stopped a few times to point out locations of interest. The swim up at the mountain lodge was so nice after the ride up. I totally want an ebike now so I can zoom up hills!

You can expect to find a very friendly host and tour guide. The electric bike is a lot of fun to ride and the scenery is awesome, especially as you wind your way up the canyon. I would absolutely do it again!

The ride was hosted by Kristian, and it was wonderful. I got to see a bit of Boulder that I am sure I would have missed on my own. Friendly co-riders, a really nice host, a dip in the pool at the lodge, and a delicious Porter made for a great experience.

Wendy was so friendly and awesome! We loved zooming up the boulder creek path with ease on our electric bikes and the complimentary beverage and dip in the pool at the lodge at the top were lovely too! Loved stopping at different points on the way up to learn more about the community, take a break, or check out the fun Boulder Creek! And Wendy... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TELLING US ABOUT TUBE TO WORK DAY!!! Nate and I had the time of our lives tubing to work with all of the locals at 8:00 a.m. on a Wednesday morning and we would NOT have known about it without you!
