What you'll do

PANDEMIC-COMPLIANT per NC Governor's Phase I guidelines. No more than 8 people per tour; held outside 6 feet apart & masks worn during hive inspection. SUSTAINABLE BIO-DIVERSITY, HEALTHY BEES, EXQUISITE HONEY. This tour is about sustainable bio-diversity and the role of bees. Honeybees are the heartbeat of a healthy environment. Join us on an exploration of these incredible insects and what they mean for our food source and the health of our forest. Experience the intensity of the bee colony, the power of the Queen and the fierce loyalty of her female subjects. A fun & adult introduction to a bees life is followed by doning a traditional bee suit, covered head to toe and participating in a personal “meet & greet” with the bees. Guests will inspect a hive with the beekeeper, hold a frame full of bees and experience the thrill of a Queen sighting! You will then come back to the house for a delicious honey tasting and food pairing. Savor honey from the Killer Bees apiary which like wine, will be expertly paired with a variety of foods. You will experience how each honey tastes different, and how each honey can be paired to fully compliment different types of foods. Champagne of course pairs with all honeys! Finally, visit the honey processing house where you will learn about artisanal methods of honey processing and receive your own souvenir bottle of Killer Bees hone

Where you'll be

Located deep in the Pisgah National Forest of Western North Carolina, the Killer Bees Honey apiary is nestled high on Walnut Cove Mountain. Surrounded by 512,000 farm and pesticide-free acres of soul-cleansing views, our lady aviators gather nectar from a variety of floral sources. The end result is honey as pure and natural as the forest from which it is derived. This tour is not only unique to the area but also unique in the country
