What you'll do

Welcome to one of Switzerland's best kept secrets: the sleepy, charming village of Seelisberg. Join us on a 6.3 km hike, along the opening leg of the iconic Weg Der Schweiz (Way of Switzerland) hiking trail. The total trail is 35 kms in length - we will take you on the first 6.3 kms, from it's starting point at Seelisberg, down towards the beautiful enclave village of Bauen, on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The path is paved for the first 5 kms of the way, with a final 1.3 kms, a forest trail, down into Bauen.

We will walk at any pace that is comfortable for you. A comfortable, light pace, will seldom take more than 2 hrs to complete the hike. This includes a few short breaks when needed - and - considering some of the incredible views along the way, it's almost a given, you'll want to stop and take photos.

The experience starts at the Seelisberg train station (TSB Seelisberg Bhf), and ends at Bauen ferry station where you will have the option to take a majestic historic Swiss ferry back to any town on the shores of Lake Lucerne (Brunnen, Fluelen, Sisikon, Treib, Beckenried, Weggis, Vitznau, Lucerne, and others).

We have been traveling the world non-stop for nearly 20 years (8 of those years together). After visiting/living in nearly 50 countries, we finally found our home in the Swiss village of Seelisberg. Having once called home some of the world's largest cities, like Tokyo, Japan, to barely known villages like St. Jakob, Defereggental in Austria, when we first saw Seelisberg from a distance, while standing on the shores of Lake Lucerne at the Brunnen ferry station, we knew we had finally found our place. We're confident you'll see why, once you experience this slice of Swiss serenity.
