What you'll do

We will meet under the Water Tower near Cafe Restaurant Amsterdam. I live right around the corner and will tell you a little about the neighborhood. After that we will take 10-15 minutes to make sure everyone is comfortable on their bike.

Our first stop is Amsterdam’s most iconic windmill. From there we head to Westerpark and check out its beautiful art sculptures. Just behind Westerpark we'll visit a neighborhood called Spaarndammerbuurt. It is famous for its architectural style called The Amsterdam School, which greatly inspired Gaudí.

Next we will visit the Houthavens (the former Lumber Port) which is currently under transition from an industrial and polluting part of town into a sustainable residential area. From there we'll take the ferry over the IJ river and head to the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam-North. We'll see loads of street art, graffiti and pop-up art from local prospective artists.

Crossing back over the river IJ we will head to a completely untouched part of the old city. There we will see the canals and old canal houses in their authentic setting without so many people around. Finally, we'll head back to Westerpark and end the tour with a refreshing drink.

The meeting point is under the white water tower next to David Goliath Bikes. However, I don't run the tour from the bike shop. Just wait patiently under the water tower and I will meet you there!!

Where you'll be

During the bike tour we will see a nice mix of art, architecture, history and my personal favourite hang outs in Amsterdam. We start with Amsterdam's iconic windmill. I love Westerpark for its many art sculptures. Spaarndammerbuurt showcases some of the finest architectural wonders of The Amsterdam School. Later we will cross the IJ river to check out the NDSM warf where many local underground artist come together. I love this place for its vibe.

This tour gave us an opportunity to feel this town as we were locals :) The route was full of hidden beautiful corners. The guide is very friendly, he shed the light on some peculiar city stories. We are definitely coming for more! BTW the bikes were great.

We had a great time on our bike tour with Pim! The route was well chosen with lots of stops and information from Pim about art, architecture and Amsterdam and Dutch living. For anyone not sure about riding a bike in the busy bike traffic in the city center, this tour was a great opportunity for relaxed biking and sightseeing. Definitely recommended to anyone who doesn’t want to follow all other tourists through the city center and see more of Amsterdam!

Pim did an amazing job with his bike tour through the not-so-traveled streets of Amsterdam and North Amsterdam. It was great to experience the city as a true Dutch native, on a bicycle. Our only regret was not being able to spend more time on the tour, as we had museum tickets for later in the afternoon. This is a tour I would take every time I visit Amsterdam.

The bike tour with Pim was the highlight of our time in Amsterdam! Pim was incredibly knowledgable and shared unique insight and stories about each area we experienced. He brought us to sites off the beaten track and had great knowledge about the history and local context of the areas- very cool! It was a perfect tour and Pim took all health precautions, which made us feel very safe throughout the tour given Covid (way better then the walking tours in the city). We loved our time with Pim and really recommend this tour to anyone and everyone who goes to Amsterdam! Don’t let the fear of biking stop you, it’s super easy and fun!

yay...we did Pims Tour for the second time now! It's just the best way to get to know all the cool amsterdam places. I love Pims stories and personal asides; he's a very friendly and philosophical character...we'll always think of "dutch pragmatism" now. : )) highlights include westerpark, north amsterdam/docklands and the wonderful dutch expressionism building school. highly entertaining & totally germfree! xxx

This was a truly original and interesting experience, highly enjoyable for the whole family. Pim was personally involved in his tour and took us to places that mattered to him and that we would never have seen otherwise. A great way to discover Amsterdam off the beaten track!
